2011 Game Releases

No, the Prince of Persia HD trilogy put me off remastered games. It has even made me reconsider buying the ICO collection.

I am seriously out of ideas. Considered Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions for a while yesterday.

Buy an Xbox on the cheap get the 3 Halo Games and the 2 Gears of War Games. Alan Wake too

I am seriously out of ideas. Considered Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions for a while yesterday.

What was wrong with the PoP ones? I was planning on getting them seeing as the God of War and Sly ones are both really good. Although i did wonder why it was about £15 cheaper.

I also fail to see how the ICO collection will be anything other than brilliant, i could still play the PS2 version and love it. Seriously don't skip on that.

I just thought it was shite. Playing it immediately after I finished Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, probably wasn't the best idea. It's nice to see where some of the ideas came from, but not so much fun to actually play. I traded it after about half an hour. Only a pound out of pocket.

The gameplay of Sly still stands up, a fun little platformer with some mini games and challenges. If you can get it for a decent price and like that stlye of games then you should definitely grab it.

They're not overly difficult, the challenges in the first game are the hardest, but good fun. The move minigames are pretty pointless, far too simple and too few.

I bought Dead Space (again), and Sacred 2. £13 for the two.

I have been considering picking it up for ages, today it was down to £7, so why not.

I am determined to give Dead Space a proper go this time. Then if it is as good as it is reputed to be, I will get the second.

Looks terrible. But I suppose could be fun. Were the originals any good?

Were the originals any good!? PFFFFF.

They were immense. TM: Black was fantastic too. I used Sweet Tooth a lot.

Vigilante 8 I had on the Playstation, was great! Really enjoyed the levels, similarly with Interstate '76.

For me...

- 3DS, Ocarina of Time (I can play one of the greatest games ever on the train!? Hellz yeah)
- LA Noire
- Uncharted 3
- Diablo III (reportedly a 2011 release, though a bit pessimistic, this is Blizzard after all)
- Zelda : Skyward Sword (looks incredible)
- Old Republic - been wanting a good SW RPG since Star Wars Galaxies!

There's a ridiculously amount of good games i'll either consider or buy, such as:

Marvel vs Capcom 3
Mass Effect 3
Devil May Cry 5
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Twisted Metal
Uncharted 3
Crysis 2
Gears of War 3

...and if Phantasy Star Online 2 comes out this year I might just kill myself.

You'll like Sacred 2 well enough, Lance. I haven't played it since Gran Turismo 5 came out but was getting back into it at the time. Lot of hours of game play, although I don't have enough of that these days.

The Old Republic is the big one as far as I'm concerned.

BioWare testing a market dominated by an ageing game.

OK I have vouchers to waste

Bulletstorm or Crysis 2

Last thing I need is another 1st person but the review on IGN today for Crysis is surprisingly good and I cant think of anything else to get other than those 2...

IGN are cack, save your vouchers for something else.

Ive always liked their site. Are their reviews generally not agreed with?

What is a good gaming site?

Personally I tend to disagree with a large number of their reviews so I tend to avoid them altogether, that's just me though.

My favourite games review site is Destructoid, only because I agree with most their reviews and I've also been totally satisfied by their recommendations. But to be honest it's all subjective, if you want an idea then go on gamespot and look up the average player ratings/reviews (NOT the gamespot review score)...its a more accurate indication IMO. That, or just use metacritic if you wish.

Metacritic.

The problem I have with metacritic is that it's scores are heavily reliant on the generic review sites which are influenced by adveriting revenues, or they review games in such lifeless fashion (graphics > sound > multiplayer > gameplay > fun)

I generally look at IGN, Eurogamer and CVG to get a range. I also read Game Central on the Metro website - they are overly harsh, pretty elitist and I often disagree with them but they won't reel out 9's/10's for all the hyped AAA titles that IGN seem to.

I'll be trading Homefront for Crysis 2 on Friday and Bulletstorm was great fun although not quite as revolutionary as some have claimed.

In terms of individual sites, I generally agree with 1Up.com.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
Football Manager 2012

Will FM 2012 be in HD ?

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - 26th Aug
Dead Island - 9th Sep
Rage - 16th Sep
Gears of War 3 - 20th Sep
FIFA 12 - Special Edition - 30th Sep
Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 - 14th Oct
Batman: Arkham City - 21st Oct
Battlefield 3 - 28th Oct
Uncharted 3 - 2nd Nov
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - 8th Nov
Halo 1 remake - 15th Nov
Assassin's Creed Revelations - 15th Nov

I've caved and just ordered Portal 2 off Amazon. Christ knows when I'll get time to play it though.

Still not finished Vanquish, Crysis 2 or Dirt 3.

I want Batman, COD, F1 and maybe Battlefield & Bodycount from the rest of the year.

This is the year my life will end. In no particular order:

Modern Warfare III
Battlefield III
Batman: Arkham City
Rage
Skyrim
Dead Island
Halo IV
Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Diablo III

And I don't know when exactly it comes out, but Dishonoured looks like it's going to god-damn-willy-tuggingly amazing.

Had a look recently at Diablo 3, (beta testing online), its fantastic, especially online.
The characters look really well balanced and equally enticing, and the fps and spell animations are superb. Exciting new feature in the auction house allows you to sell items for ingame gold or real cash.

Uncharted 3 - The beta was the best shooting game i ever played and enjoyed, online obviously.

Fifa 12 - As always, every year.

Assassins Creed IV - My brother gets it no matter what..

F1 2011 - F1 2010 was a huge hit in my book and finally have a f1 game to a expected standard.

I haven't had the chance to play Crysis but Bulletstorm is a greatly funny and violent game. The dialogs are rude but too funny
