A tactic to try and drive the Dorgu price down
That would be my one worry. We have a team full of weaklings and Alvaro is not very physical either. Dorgus physique and pace is desperately missing from our team at the moment.Seen something earlier saying the reason we’re chasing Dorgu and not simply trying to get Álvaro back is because INEOS want to increase the amount of physicality and athleticism in the team and Dorgu is a much better option in that respect.
Sadly not only do we lack physicality and athleticism but also technical class. That would be my one worry. We have a team full of weaklings and Alvaro is not very physical either. Dorgus physique and pace is desperately missing from our team at the moment.
IF he does well as a LCB he could be the ideal replacement for Shaw (backup LCB and backup LWB).Played as a LCB in a back 3 today. Looked very assured and calm, good on the ball and positionally, although he didn't really face much threat. His passing is top notch.
Should've had a couple of assists too. Would definitely get him back given how low the buy back is, can rotate with Dorgu at LWB.
Been saying this for a while. I’m not surprised to see him tried centrally. Same size as Inacio but better aerially and clearly very good at progressing the ball. I think he’d make a great option for LCB/LWB easpecially for the price and with the range of aereas the need to strengthen it makes perfect sense to me to bring him back.Played as a LCB in a back 3 today. Where's Martinez in all this.IF he does well as a LCB he could be the ideal replacement for Shaw (backup LCB and backup LWB).
Could look like this:
LWB: Dorgu, Alvaro, Dalot
LCB: Yoro, Alvaro, Heaven
CB: Maguire, MdL, Heaven
RCB: MdL, Mazraoui, Yoro
RWB: new RWB (Quenda?), Dalot, Mazraoui, (Dorgu)
In this situation, we don't really need Shaw. Ideally, we also sell Dalot, but I think that's unlikely.
But I would prefer we bought a proper CB, like Diomande or get Boscagli on a free.
He hasn't really played much there and tbh defending is not a very strong suit of his (more from not being tested enough) although he's not a liability either. I really think we should cash out on Dalot, while his stock is high-ish. Just doesn't have the IQ to be consistent.IF he does well as a LCB he could be the ideal replacement for Shaw (backup LCB and backup LWB).

Yeah, he's actually a big lad but also scrawny. I'd wait to judge him as a LCB as he hasn't really played much or been tested there but he could definitely do a job there given how good he is on the ball when we play teams we are expected to dominate.Been saying this for a while. Where's Martinez in all this.
We’ll certainly sign a CB with Shaw more or less finished and Martinez injury, also Maz not really being a CBIF he does well as a LCB he could be the ideal replacement for Shaw (backup LCB and backup LWB).

If Yoro continues like he has shown in that role then we don't have to rush anything especially as we also got Heaven who's suppose to be a left center backAfter two serious injuries, I think we will have to plan without him. He won't be the same anymore
I still think it's lesser priority. Maz is very much comfortable and suitable playing as a right center back, so our options are Maz, De ligt, Maguire, Yoro, Heaven, Martinez (yeah he's injured but he'll be back and there's no pressure rushing his recovery because Yoro seem to be stepping up). That's six for three position. We are much stronger here than in pretty much any other position. We’ll certainly sign a CB with Shaw more or less finished and Martinez injury, also Maz not really being a CB
Watch Amorim post match press conference. “The cbs are comfortable in a low block” “I do not like to play this way”. We’ll sign a CB for sure.I still think it's lesser priority. Simply forgot about him... I guess his two injuries made me think he belongs to the Shaw/Mount category now.Where's Martinez in all this.
