The saddest part is, the players actually appeared to be trying.
That's the dangerous part in all of this.
They probably don't have a higher level/gear. What you saw today is their level

We lumbered against the bottom of the league team (I can't even remember who it was).
The 2nd from bottom team was a draw.
And we got walloped by the first team we met that isn't in the relegation zone or in the Championship.
Even allowing for injuries, to lose 4-0 is unbelievable.

Don’t want Casemiro anywhere near the cup final. That being said, half the bells shouldn’t be there!

Just awful.
I don't want that either. But to be honest, it makes no difference who plays that game for us. We will never be able to win. "Can United score"? "No, only very rarely".

only reason we'll come 8th is because West Ham and Brighton have man city to play and won't get the points to finish above us. I doubt we'll get any more points this season.

Would Louis Jackson have done that much worse than Casemiro in that game? How the feck did him and Eriksen play 90 mins btw? I’m pretty sure Erik is done with this team and isn’t even bothering himself now. We’ll do well to get 3 points from our remaining games. God help us in the final too. Be some records broken for an FA cup final I reckon

Horrific. Everyone knows the manager is a problem but when you have players that can't run against any half decent physical side then you're going to struggle. Think we've seen the last season of Casemiro, Eriksen and probably Evans (not criticizing him, he's just getting on).

Add to this Mainoo who is a fantastic talent but needs energetic players around him to help his game. As someone said, a few months in the gym might help him a lot.

Dalot was terrible, AwB has just no awareness of what's around him at all. Hojlund's hold up play was non-existent, Antony was as bad as anything Rashford has served up this season. Horrendous all around.

It was briefly comforting that Palace seemed to be trying to run the clock down at the start of the second half, as it was clear that if they actually tried, they'd hammer us even more. Ended up happening.

We had absolutely nothing. Playing a high line with Casemiro, Evans, Eriksen, Mainoo, Mount was a fun concept. In the dark 10 years, this is the worst we've been

I am delighted we're 8th in the league, and I can't understand how we've fluked ourself into the top half of the table. Genuinely amazed, considering how we have played this season.

Undoubtably the worst performance I've ever seen from a utd team and I've watched them since the early 60's. Never seen a goalkeeper that bad either.

We are now where we deserve to be in the table based off our performances this season.

Not to mention the 60 mill keeper might be a dud too.

I don’t blame the players for today’s result. I blame the manager and his crap recruitment. He underestimated the standard of EPL football and results in his first season flattered him massively which made the situation worse and increased his own believe in his stubborn tactics.

Entirely predictable battering. You haven't been paying attention to anything this season if you thought this would have gone differently. Us being in 8th is an entirely fake position in the table, we've played like roughly the 15th placed team in the league all season and deserve feck all.

Ten hag, just put the guy out of his misery. Idiotic to sacrifice a cup final.

Not one chance created. Not a single one. A pointless match. Just like our result tonight... heyoooo.

It's 3 am and I'm really really sad.

The other funny thing is; Aston Villa, with Unai Emery in charge, are about to finish in the top 4

Emery recorded what stands today as the third-highest win percentage in the club's history (55%) and reached a Europa League final but he left in November 2019 with his reputation in tatters, mocked for his imperfect English and derided as incompatible with the demands of Premier League football.Dec 8, 2023

The pathetic depths this team can sink to is just mortifying. There are still some fans, you know who you are, that hide behind excuses of 'structure, injuries, not his players' etc etc but we will never become a force again unless we call out the level of mediocrity and show managers the door when they sink to such levels.

Hopefully another Watford moment. Erik needs to move on.

I don’t mind at all giving time to a manager, but you need to see clear progress and a clear plan. This isn’t one of those seasons where “results haven’t gone our way”, we’ve been easily beaten over and over, same gaps and same issues persist. A manager who claims we play the most entertaining football. We are regressing once more and the lack of cohesion and gameplan is totally on the managers head.

players are also shit ontop of it of course, but this isn’t the same pricks that downed tools for Jose, Ralf and Ole. This is just a group that are average at best but have no real leader on or off the pitch.

Would love the season to end now. I gave every single player a rating of 1. That's because there isn't the option for zero.

I don't think we're very good at this football malarkey. Not a single positive to take away from that game. Fair play to those away fans. First class as always.

It's so weird to watch a performance like that, against a team of that level, and not be surprised at all.

I fully expect to see Ten Hag saying that we did well, and that we were entertaining, and that we can't expect to win with injuries and without De Jong and Kane.

Edit: and to remain employed.

Nothing positive to dya about that really. Hamstring by injuries and it showed tonight. Even considering that, it was incredibly poor.

Hopefully this is rock bottom. If we play worse than this we will be relegated next year. I can't see us wining another game this year, if we do manage to win one let it be against City.

Don't taze me, bro
I've always wondered how Eze and Olise weren't scoring + creating goals for fun together. Too good of a pair to not be among the best attacks in the league. Thankfully, we've sorted that.
