Berner Sport Club Young Boys, commonly known as Young Boys of Bern or Young Boys, nicknamed Die Gelb-Schwarzen (Yellow and Blacks) and abbreviated to YB, is a Swiss sports club based in the capital city Bern. One of the most successful club in the nations, Young Boys have won 15 Swiss league championships and 6 Swiss Cups, and in 1957, they were named the Swiss team of the year. Young Boys is also one of the most successful Swiss football clubs internationally, and reached the semi-finals of the European Cup in the 1958–59 season.

The club was founded on 14 March 1898 after a game of football with the Basel Old Boys Association playing against FC Bern as Fussballclub Young Boys by brothers Max and Oscar Schwab, Hermann Bauer and Franz Kehrli — who were studying at the University of Bern. The slightly older FC Bern submitted an offer to the YB leadership to provide grounds, changing rooms, and equipment if these students would play as a team affiliated with FCB with Young Boys still retaining their own leadership and statutes. In 1925, the association's name was changed from FC Young Boys to Berner Sport Club Young Boys. This year was also the last game on the old Spitalacker-platz as in October, the new Wankdorf Stadium by the architects Scherler & Berger was opened with a tournament. It was attended by the Old Boys from Basel, Servette Geneva, and the Young Boys.

Young Boys enjoyed their most successful period between 1957 and 1960 under German coach Albert Sing, when it won the title four times in a row and reached the semi-final of the European Champion Clubs’ Cup (now the Champions League). Young Boys's biggest rivals are FC Thun, FC Basel 1893, FC Zürich and Grasshopper Club Zürich. They play their home games at Stade de Suisse Wankdorf.

I'd give the players who need minutes, minutes with a mix of first eleveners. Ronaldo is a CL specialist so he can get another goal or two.

I like this, nice level of rotation.

    Team should be...

    ----------------De Gea----------------
    AWB--Varane--Maguire--Shaw
    ----------Fred----------VDB----------
    Sancho-----Bruno-----Martial
    ---------------Ronaldo---------------

Subs: Heaton, Lindelof, Dalot, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Lingard, Greenwood, Elanga

    Henderson
    Dalot Varane Lindelof Shaw
    Fred VDB
    Sancho Ronaldo Cavani Martial

I remember this game a few years ago in Switzerland. Dalot made his debut and was absolutely superb. Hopefully history repeats itself, if he is selected to start.

Is Henderson back fully fit? He wasn't on the bench today so who knows if he's still got a touch of Long COVID.

Same team, maybe VdB in midfield and Pogba out left, with Sancho dropping to the bench. Important to get off to a good start .

I beg Ole to play 433, no need to be defensive in this.

    de gea

    dalot
    lindaloff
    varane
    telles (if fit)

    dvb
    fred
    Bruno

    lingard
    Ronaldo
    sancho

I think we should play Sancho in this game. Good to give him an easier game to get an assist/goal and take some of the pressure off him.

    de Gea

    AWB Varane Maguire Shaw

    Fred VDB

    Sancho Bruno Lingard

    Ronaldo

    Subs: Pogba, Greenwood, Elanga

Man Utd 3-0 Young Boys (Ronaldo, Sancho, Greenwood)

Played a under 23's game today apparently

I certainly wouldn't be playing him in this game though, maybe the West Ham cup game

    Dalot ---- Varane --- Maguire --- Shaw
    Fred
    VDB --- Bruno
    Lingard --- Ronaldo --- Sancho

    Sub: Pogba, Martial, Greenwood

Tempted to maybe play Ronaldo as a sub and start Martial

Can rest Pogba, CR and get VDB and Cavani in. Sancho stays and give Lingard the start instead of Mason. Dalot and iceman might get start too

    De Gea
    AWB - Varane - Maguire - Shaw
    VDB - Fred
    Greenwood - Pogba - Sancho
    Ronaldo
I hope Ole eventually ditches his routine of rotating keepers for different competitions but I wouldn't be shocked to see Henderson start. I think it's a good opportunity to rest Bruno also and not repeat that mistake from last season.

Not sure I agree with so much rotation that's been suggested. I'd only switch Matic out for Fred and that's it.

I wouldn't rotate so much with our first Champions League game. I'd only make a 2 or 3 changes.

It may be 'Young Boys' but we only have 6 games to qualify. No messing too much with the team, put a strong team out.
Having said that i feel Donny will get a start here.

Oh feck, just saw the kick off time and it clashes with a schools parents evening.... Darn it, I am going to get detention for using my phone during that, unless I can wriggle out of it somehow.

    De Gea
    Wan Bissaka Varane Maguire Telles
    Pogba Fred
    Greenwood Bruno Lingard
    Ronaldo

Tiny amount of rotation. Think Lingard starts after his goal today. Don't think you can rest the CB's, Pogba, Bruno, Greenwood or Ronaldo at the moment though.

Bring on Cavani, Telles and Pogba for Bruno, Shaw and Ronaldo in the 2nd half.

Resting Magure (who has not been great this season) for Lindelof, Greenwood for Martial, and playing VDB (for either Pogba or Bruno).

Cavani to come in the second half after Ronaldo scores a hattrick.

No paedophile or rape jokes before anyone thinks of posting one. Should go without saying really but have to post it as I know what some are like.
