West Bromwich Albion Football Club (nicknamed West Brom, The Baggies, The Throstles, Albion or simply WBA), are a professional football club based in West Bromwich, West Midlands. The club that became West Bromwich Albion was formed in 1878 by a group of young workers at the George Salter Springs factory, appropriate for a club whose terrace celebration would more than a century later become "boing boing". They were renamed West Bromwich Albion in 1880, becoming the first team to adopt the Albion suffix. Just eight years after forming, in 1886 they became the first team from the Midlands to reach an FA Cup final, losing in a replay to Blackburn Rovers. Albion were also among the inaugural 12 members of the Football League in 1888, winning our first game, 2-0 at Stoke's Victoria Ground.

All in all they have one League title win, 5 FA Cup wins, and one League Cup win to their name. Even though West Brom have spent the majority of their history in the top-flight of English football, when the FA Premier League was founded in 1992 the club found themselves in the third tier, and have negotiated periodic relegation-promotion oscillations to the Premier League ever since. West Brom play their homes games at The Hawthorns, and have long-standing rivalries with Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

    100%

De Gea (hopefully Henderson but knowing Ole won't be)
    AWB-Lindelof-Maguire-Shaw
    McFred
    Greenwood-Bruno-Rashford
    Cavani.

    0-2 United.

Team picks itself really. Only question is whether De Gea plays or we stick with Henderson. Think Ole will go with De Gea.

Need to beat these shite. No Sheffield United part 2.

    DDG (would prefer Henderson)
    AWB-Lindelof-Maguire-Sahw
    Fred-McTominay
    Greenwood-Bruno-Martial
    Cavani

I’d give Rashford a rest for this one and as poor as Martial has been I also think he’s been unlucky, and Rashford has been equally poor at times.

    Henderson
    Wan Bissaka Bailly Maguire Shaw
    McTominay Fred
    Greenwood Bruno James
    Cavani
Time to give Henderson a run. Maybe James in for Rashford due to 120 minutes today. Williams for AWB if he was injured or needs a rest. No cover for Fred really with Pogba injured.

    Henderson

    Awb Lindelof Maguire Shaw

    McTominay Matic

    Greenwood Bruno Rashford

    Cavani

They are going batter De Gea every chance they get and Dave will shrug his shoulders with a sad sap face when it happens.

Shouldn't be anything other than a routine victory. 0-3 for us.

Ugh, I could do without watching us trying to break down yet another 9-0-1 formation. Oh well.

Feels our longest break in absolutely ages.

Id stick with donny and play him in a pivot with mctominay. No chance ole drops de gea. Bailly over Lindelof if he's fit.

    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw

    Mctominay Donny

Team pretty much picks itself, only question mark for me, having not watched west brom any time recently, are they a team of giants who play long ball and are all about the set pieces? In which case maybe Matic over Fred might be considered. But yeah, only a minor consideration, shouldn’t really be much of a factor.

Shouldn't be anything other than a routine victory. 0-3 for us.
When do we ever do routine victories? Unless they have a man sent off in the 2nd minute, it's probably going to be another massive slog. Our last 10 results against 11 men are 1-0, 3-3, 0-0, 1-2, 3-2, 2-1, 0-0, 1-0, 1-0, 0-2.

    Henderson
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McT Fred
    Greenwood Bruno Rashford

Just win. Games against these sorts of teams should be certain victories.

There is as much chance of Carrick starting as Donny...... And rightly so, he was awful against West Ham.

Team picks itself. Only questions is Henderson or De Gea.... I'd like Bailly over Lindelof too but can't see it.

Atleast we get abit of rest, which I think is much needed with this team.

Still wouldn't be surprised if this is abit of a slow burner. 3points and a cleansheet is all I ask.

I don't think there's much chance of him starting. Just think it's a game where he can start and get minutes. He looks low on confidence. An injury to Fred or mctominay and we'll need him to be able to do a job

Yea, fair enough. An injury to either of them and Matic comes in at the moment. Donny hasn't earned the trust yet.

Hopefully we can get a couple of early goals and bring DVB on for some game time...... And Amad.

Bailly has trained and is available for this game apparently

West Brom are very much a Championship quality side but they will park the bus and be tough to breakdown.

Know it's highly unlikely in their current form but would you still feel the same if City dropped points to Spurs on Sat night.

Am sure he's parodying the idiots who bother to pop in to write that.

    Ole versus Megatherium Sam

Given they have conceded 2+ goals in every single game since their draw with Liverpool in Dec, you really have to hope this is going to be a simple win. That said, we lost to SHU.

Carrick is the same age as Zlatan, time for a comeback!?

Nice early goal, please! At least in the first half. If we do score early I think we’ll be comfortable, otherwise it could be one of those horrible games where we try to create and seem to lack urgency. Centre backs to full backs, side pass to midfield, back to centre back, holds onto the ball for a few more seconds than is necessary whilst looking up and then passes to fellow centre back. Points finger in a random direction after passing the ball sideways to show he‘s looking for the option.

Six points from the next two league games is a must! Don’t care how we do it.

Much like most of you lot, the team seems pretty straightforward. The likes of van de Beek, Matic, and Martial haven't convinced me that they should be getting picked over certain other players. Cavani & Greenwood have definitely become more established IMO, if anything they're probably harder to displace right now than Rashford!

I don't think Henderson will start, it will be de Gea. However, if Dave is making mistakes again over this game and Newcastle, Chelsea etc on the horizon then it'll be very difficult for Ole to not change it. Particularly if Henderson has good games against Sociedad (I imagine he starts both legs). It'll be an interesting development if Ole is seriously debating bringing in Hendo for Chelsea or Man City... Those games are going to be pivotal in where we finish, provided we beat West Brom & Newcastle first.
