The words deckchairs and titanic come to mind when I think about the lineup.
I know the first change I’d make to United’s recent teams, but I don’t sense the same Ole-less set of coaching staff will be the ones to move on from De Gea.
Henderson for sure right now. He deserves a proper shot at it and we have nothing to lose by giving him it. By the end of the season, I at least want to know whether I am continuing with Henderson or looking to buy a new keeper. To who?
Why? Do you think Carrick is actually going to change anything? He has been part of the problem.Bit of hope for this one now.
Honestly, with the kind of mess this club is, I have no idea if anybody is really responsible for anything, but as the technical director of a major club, that is what Fletcher SHOULD be responsible for. In reality, I don't even know wtf he has been doing, if anything at all. Could be that he is just a guy who calls up potential recruits and tells them how nice United is. That really isn't what the extent of technical director's responsibilities should be though. SighWas defining a playing philosophy really his task?

De Gea absolutely has no future as a top level goalkeeper. He’s liable in every aspect of his game bar shot-stopping.
How we went from a position of strength with an in-form De Gea, Romero as an excellent #2 and Henderson developing nicely on loan to where we are now is embarrassing.
There is always a bounce. I have zero desire for Carrick but the next few games will now have a different outcome regardless. Probably not Chelsea though. Why? Do you think Carrick is actually going to change anything? He has been part of the problem.
What do you mean there is always a bounce? There is always a bounce. I have zero desire for Carrick but the next few games will now have a different outcome regardless. Probably not Chelsea though.
Whenever a manager is sacked/a new one comes in there’s always usually some sort of reaction and I’m pretty confident we’ll get a result in this game now. We would have lost with Ole.What do you mean there is always a bounce?
The players have been listening to his voice as part of the failed regime. He is not the new Manager, just a face to front up for the next game. This does not lend itself to a "bounce".There is always a bounce. I have zero desire for Carrick but the next few games will now have a different outcome regardless. Probably not Chelsea though.
In all seriousness, much of United’s frailties at the back stem from having a one-dimensional goalkeeper. He cannot confidently move and pass the ball when we are being pressed, he cannot distribute it accurately over distance, he is a non-entity when defending set pieces and has no natural inclination to rush out. The goals might not be directly contributable to De Gea, but they are a symptom of his lack of contribution. Would you want to be a defender in a team with David De Gea?If you think the last few defeats have been embarrassing, imagine how it would have been without De Gea.
I mean, fecking hell
I hate it ffs, not sure how athletes cope with the pressure hoping I get luckier than @Reditus
Slipped from 8th to 11th, gutted!
I had a shocker too, not sure how I held on to the top spot, i'm definitely losing it this week!
I believe, Fletcher's first big test was summer transfer video, where he had responsibility to define United's playing philosophy and guide recruitment accordingly. Considering that we ended up with too many attackers, players all over the field who we have no idea what to do with, and never recruited anybody as DM, the position most needed, we can say he failed his first big test completely and miserably.
As for, Fletcher as coach/manager, the person whose entire managerial experience is 6mo as under-16 coach, and 6mo as first-team coach, having him even as interim is a disastrous solution.
Bloody Carrick Who knows what he'll come out with!
Could be a total shake up to send a message or it could be a carbon copy of a Ole line-up.
There'll be something different for sure, I think Donny starts - only questions are the formation and whether its Rashford or McTominay/Matic who's dropped for him - my bet is McTominay right now. But we'll see.
Are you being serious? If he’s still here in a fortnight, fine, complain then. But it’s nonsensical to complain when we sacked our manager on Sunday and the team are travelling abroad 24 hours later. Who else are we getting in at that notice?
