I’m usually quite optimistic. But no. It’s over I think, far too smart defensively. They aren’t Villa or Brighton or regular pl teams we come out and destroy in the 2nd half, way too savvy. Played it to a tee. After a nervy 10 mins from them they settled and it’s gone exactly how they prepared

They have parked the bus and snatched a set piece goal like everyone does against us, and we have zero movement being offered going upfront.

hopefully for the second half.. they arent offering much outside of set pieces. sitting very deep.. which is a good tactic against us considering how bad we are at set pieces.. it really needs to be fixed next season.

We shouldn't have played Pogba in CM alongside McT. He hasn't played there for quite some time. Also this shit defence need all the protection it can get. It was evident even when we could rely on Maguire let alone now that we're without him.

We've got to get the wingers to keep their width and drive at their full backs. These lot can be exposed with pace. AWB is doing well so far but in all honesty, we may be better off with a winger at FB at 60 mins. That's our current creative route.

Pub tactics by Emery in all honesty, but the reality is, we struggle with them.

We’re definitely playing the match, not the opposition. Those first 10 minutes we must have won the ball in their half 4/5 times and did nothing with it.

Shaw was most at fault for the goal. He lost his man who came on the blind side of Lindelof. The line was appalling on the free kick too. Think we had three men playing the last Villareal player well onside.

No. He did the wrong pass. If you look at that sequence again, after Rashford got by the defender he chose the wrong pass. Bruno was completely free by not making the run into the crowded area.

They are hanging on and have been lucky with the bounce of the ball a few times.
