Looking forward to how Ole, Carrick and go game plan for this one. On talent alone, our midfield needs to dominate for us to stand a chance because their attack and defense are elite.

Not sure if the Dubai break will work in our favour or not. Spurs will play their strongest team on Tuesday v Chelsea, then have 5 days to recover for Sunday. Our first team would have had nearly 11 days since they beat Newcastle.
Hopefully we will be stronger in the second half as Wolves were against them.

The real test. Pochettino Spurs are playing excellent football and baring injuries to the likes Wanyama, Dembele and Diet, they have a full strength squad.
However, United are rejuvenated and the players will want to make a statement that shows our true quality. If we play like we did against the last few opponents, Spurs will murder us in the back like they did to Everton. We would need better positioning, and good work ethic to come out of this with a victory.

Was hoping to be there.. Anyway, a draw would be great But is it wrong I'm still hoping for a a win

As crazy as it sounds, we should never have lost that game, specially after the very good first half.

We were good in the first half you are right. We were playing much more on the front foot and I thought here we go.

But Tottenham movement was excellent and their finishing was devistating.

If everyone is fit after our the small break

    De Gea
    Darmian Lindelof Smalling Shaw
    Matic Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Martial

    De Gea

    Young Lindelof Jones Shaw
    Matic
    Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Rashford Martial

Only two places in team I can see being in question (if Smalling is still out) are Young and Martial but I don't think the other attackers have put in a clear case to be starting yet.

Apart from Jones who I would replace with Smalling (provided he is fit), this is clearly our best and most consistent first 11.

Ole's first major test will be passed with flying colours.

    3-1 United.

Not to single you out (there are a lot of people in the other Ole threads who are waiting to judge Ole based on this game and the Liverpool games), but don't you think it's harsh to form any basis based on this game or the Liverpool game? Those two are top 3 teams in the country with managers who have been in the position for 3-4 years and have got their own squads and style of play fully ingrained. Will it be not a disservice to pass a judgement on Ole based on how we do in those two games?

We're not expecting him to win all of those games or at least I'm not. We just want to see if he can compete against the best teams whilst continuing to play attacking football. That will be good enough for me.

This will be Ole's first loss, but that's not a big deal - we'll move on either way.

    ---------------DDG-------------------
    Darmian---Jones---Lindelöf-----Shaw
    --------------Matic-------------------
    -----Herrera-----------Pogba----------
    Mata--------Rashford----------Martial

SUBS - Lingard (Mata), Fellaini (Matic), Young (Shaw)

    Spurs 3 - 1 Man United
Rashford for us, Kane, Dele Alli and Son for them.

Your advantage in this game is the fact that we have a tough League Cup SF 1st leg against Chelsea beforehand, which is what happens when competing on 4 different fronts.

This will be Son's last game before he departs for the Asian Cup, so I'm hoping he wants go out with a bang.

Not as confident as I would have been a few weeks ago. We have a midweek match against Chelsea while United are in Dubai to get ready for the game. United will also come in with a point to prove under a new manager.

Having said that I think Spurs will have too much quality, and if we keep it 0-0 for 30 minutes I think we'll win.

Our defence will finally get exposed. It only needs a clinical attacking unit to score easily. Jones is a walking disaster. Ddg not in form. Valencia might play. God help us

Make no bones about it, we will be beaten soundly, but its not the end of the world, the team just isnt there yet.

Will be a very hard game, hopefully we get something out of it somehow. But win/lose or draw i hope we attack them and not sit back.

    Not over Young he won't

We don't have a choice, sitting back like last season will get us killed

You don’t compete for anything, stop this nonsense. And Son won’t do anything.

Thanks for the heads up because we don't know what that entails.

Poch doesnt care one bit about League cup so it's all good for you guys. You can play your youngsters vs Chelsea. And yeah I guess it's hard to fight on all 4 fronts, United is new to that sort of thing.

    DDG
    Young Lindelof Smalling Shaw
    Herrera Matic Fred
    Pogba
    Rashford Martial

Pack the midfield and use the pace of the two strikers to stretch their centre backs.

    Final score:
    Tottenham 1-3 United

We give Spurs chances like we gave Newcastle and Reading chances and they will eat us alive.

    This could go badly.

South Korea plays against the Philippines on Monday, how is Son supposed to be available for this?

Agree with what others have said here, spurs will finally show how poor our backline is. I also feel their defenders will easily nullify martial.

Everyone in the world already knows how poor our defenders are. Not gonna be a surprise if/when they score, hopefully De Gea has a Brilliant game.

I'm not so negative about this game. We'll really need to play as a proper coordinated unit in this game to get anything out of it. The left and right side will have to attack and defend as a unit of three.

Herrera and lingard will be crucial IMHO cause if their industry and creativity can create problems for spurs then the left side is more than strong enough to cause anyone problems.

Spurs will have a tough game just a few days prior and I'm expecting they will be at least a little distracted.

First time in a long time the XI picks itself. No questions whatsoever imo.

So how do you (and other Spurs fans) think your starting 11 will look?

A Spurs fan telling us about the intricacies of competing on all fronts. Nice.

Difficult to say, pending injury updates. But Dembele, Vertonghen and Lamela have all returned to full training, so if all are fit for this match then:

    ----------------- Lloris
    Trippier - Alderweireld - Vertonghen - Rose
--------- Sissoko (or Winks) - Dembele
    Eriksen ------ Alli ------ Son
    ------------- Kane
