The most worrying aspect about the Shaw situation is that he seemingly could give feck all about not playing. If he can't get on the field tonight, when will he ever?

Guessing you don’t regularly go to United games. Cup final is a cup final and should always be cherished. Don’t get delusions of grandeur.
I used go to plenty of games as it happens before I moved to the US. Been to cup finals also. I think we should be concentrating on league and CL, especially in the earlier rounds of this trophy, and not risking important players when the game is won. I don't think it's delusions of grandeur to be honest, it's just a personal preference. Jose and other managers all talk about fatigue, injuries etc. They talk about how there are so many games in PL that are of such high intensity etc etc, and then he has perfect chance to completely rest key players, and he doesn't.

I really like that Abraham lad every time I see him.

Under the right guidance he can be a cracking player.

    Fiiiiive Caaaaantonas

That’s when you know the festive season is nearly upon us.

I’d imagine the reason he isn’t playing today is because Tuanzebe is on the pitch and Jose wanted an old head either side of him.

Also how do we know he doesn’t care about not playing. I’d imagine every young professional wants to play.

what is Matic doing out there?! he has played every game, int'l games included!

You're very free to not get excited about it, as it's up to you. I was only commenting on your point of big clubs not caring much about it, which hasn't been the case for about 4 years now.

But they don't. 3 out of the 4 big managers have slagged off the competition. The trophy being won by big clubs mean's feck all because they can afford to give a half arsed effort and one of them will still end up winning it.

It's just 20 minutes and Herrera and Rashford need rest too. Cause they'll start on Saturday.
I know that. But he has Shaw who needs minutes, and he could have had others on bench. I just personally wouldn't bother playing such strong teams or picking such strong squads for this competition. Just a personal preference, like I say. And it's 20 minutes against a dirty hacking side where either could quite easily get injured.

Does this logic also applies to FA Cup games when the managers rest their players and got eliminated or not ?

How does Kevin DeBruyne cuts open defenses with a pass and how our forwards can't even beat a man for a through ball. Talk about quality.

Again, what are you resting them for? We could smash Spurs 5-0 and there’s still a massive, odds-on chance that it’ll be inconsequential at the end of the season. We’re already 15-1 to win the league! Give me anything but a season where it trickles out by February and we’re out of all the cups.

They are playing 25 minutes of football here. They are going to have far more exertion every day this week and will likely be doing a lot of innocuous things during the week that carry a far greater injury risk than contributing here.

2 things, he's a much much better passer than any of our players and he has intelligent runners ahead of him constantly giving him options. We do those things, once or twice per game.

Because their forwards actually make runs off the ball to either create space for themselves, or each other.

    Ours just mostly stand around.

I'm resting them for the Spurs game. I don't believe any win in the league is inconsequential, especially against a rival for top 4. I personally think finishing top 4 is far more important than winning the mickey mouse changes its name every other year cup.

As I've said time and time again, personal preference, I've explained my feelings and thoughts on this one, you've explained yours. Best to leave it there, we each have a point of view, neither is going to change theirs.
