It's always slow with those centre backs. They have no balls when it comes to trying a penetrative pass. Rooney needs to try more too, always seems to try simple passes then go for daft cross field balls when there are better options.We need to find a defender to partner Smalling at the back. I agree with you, Smalling - Smalling pair at the back does look questionable.The only CB I trust from our whole squad is Smalling. Jones and Evans both have their days, and I've not seen enough of Rojo to comment.
There's no need for 3 at the back today. I'd rather we took off Evans and replaced him with Rafa. One of Falcao/ RVP off for Herrera and move Rooney up front. And maybe Januzaj on for Young at some point.
