    I said that even after the victory in Paris. But playing on thursday in this shite tornament will cost us on the week-end in the EPL.

    I can see us actually drawing this now in out typically comeback style.

    We are the luckiest team in the world to have Greenwood potentially playing football for us for the next 10 years. The kid is godly gifted
     
    We played back 4 and looked bettee.. ole changing thing to a back 3 might have sent us tp europa lesgue.
     
    So shit. Doesn’t move the ball quick enough and not quick and aggressive enough in both offensively and defensively. We are giving them too much space. Our midfield is so bad without Fred.

    Aye Greenwood should have passed that to Rashford who was wide open for an age and vice versa Rashford should have passed to Greenwood who was open for an age later in the half.

    Nit sure what Rashford was doing that time Oban got back at him either.

    It's not the refs fault we're under, but holy shit he's been shocking.
     
    Greenwood didn't put Rashford through and was capable of doing better on his first chance. Rashford was also through but got tackled.
     
    To be a fly on the wall in that dressing room... The scoreline may have been flattering but we beat this lot 5 nil just a few weeks ago. We know how they play. Or at least we should. This first half is as incriminating as it gets. Our coaching department isn't good enough, to put it diplomatically.
     
    We have been doing a very good job at pissing me off in the first 45 minutes of games lately. I just hope we also see another one of those away game come backs that we've become accustomed to. Only problem is I look at the bench and I don't see much for game winners to shake things up. one thing for sure is this back 5 needs to go. Not even sure why we set up with it. Ole says in the presser that you can't play for a tie and then sets up defensively? And with that being said, why is AWB still tucking in when we have 3 central defenders? His man scored the goal, and his man was given a free cross to set up the second. Brutal defending. I also saw Pogba warming up. I'd rather lose then see him come on the field. If he comes on I'm turning the game off...
     
    Can't believe how awful that start was. On top of that, we fecked clear cut chances and the ref is booking our players for feck all. This genuinely couldn't have gone worse if we planned it.

    Hahaha. The pelters Young was getting on this forum was incredible. I always defended him, mainly because he actually cared. And was a threat. Some on here just concentrated on the negatives. Same with Smalling. There is no way in the world he should have been shipped out when you see who we have in central defence.
     
    The thing that I find most depressing is our complete inability to look dangerous from dead ball situations. That screams out utter incompetence of coaching team to prepare the players. Not being creative is one thing, treating free kicks/corners with contemp is just dereliction of duty.
     
    Utterly shambolic 45 mins of football. I still have no idea why we were tactically manhandled in first 20 mins, we have 7 defensive players so how did Leipzig keep making so much space for themselves in final third?!

    WanB has had perhaps the worst half of football I’ve seen in a long time; but then our forwards were also utter w@nk be so selfish and having rubbish finishing. Our entire team in general looks heavy legged, and utterly confused, why I have no idea.

    ole has to go 4231, bring on Pogba and Matic and deliver his greatest ever half time talk. And then we go for it.

    The only positive we can take from that first half is that we're only 2-0 down.

    Disastrous performance. Bizarre seeing a 5 man defence being constantly done for width. Wan-Bissaka's inability to judge balls in the air once again proving an Achilles heel. Clear Leipzig have done their homework cos they're constantly forcing him to defend the diagonal.

    We have been poor and when we've had chances players have got stage fright and frozen up. At least one of the through balls Rashford and Greenwood have had today should have led to goals.

    Nobody comes out of that first half with any credit. You can hear Ole barking at the team to move the ball faster, too many of our players want 4 or 5 touches before moving the ball. It just gives Leipzig time to get back into shape. :rolleyes:

    These players have to show so much more in the second half.

    That’s COVID and lack of preseason. Or is it Woody?
     
    Potentially a real dark day for the club. We've wasted chances but have been blown away in the first 20 min and look like conceding on every turnover. I'm not confident but I would put James and push two wide players up against their full backs to try to pin them back and get a better foothold that way. Not sure where we go from here now though.

    We play like Jekyl and Hyde, so it's quite possible that we play in the 2nd half, completely differently to how we played in the 1st half.
    The main thing is that we have to get Bruno on the ball. I'm not sure if RBL are focusing on putting players on him because they know that if they stop Bruno, they stop MUFC.
     
    Way to throw away the most important game of the season thanks to inadequate defending yet again.
