No Maguire makes it hard to guess. Definitely think we do some weird 3-5-2, but with Matic or McTominay as one of the 3 CBs next to Lindelof and Shaw. Would also like Henderson to be in net, he needs his time and a clean split of cup/league goalkeepers should keep them both happy for the time being.

    Henderson
    Lindelof Matic Shaw
    Wan Bissaka McTominay Pogba Telles
    Bruno
    Rashford Martial

Greenwood off the bench, Fred off the bench, Van de Beek off the bench. Would be delighted if VdB started but I don't see it with Pogba being rested on the weekend. Maybe VdB for Bruno, but Ole will never rest Bruno away to PsG.
Why would you not play Maguire .. he will play and score a header this game ..

Seems Maguire was overplayed but we needed him against Newcastle and he scored and played well so the selection was justified. Axel Lindelof and Shaw as the back three. We should not be breaking up the Scott and Fred CM combination

Maguire picked up a slight tear, but will hopefully be back against Chelsea.

Not sure how we'll go with a back 3 now.
One of Matic/Mctominay in midfield and the other in defence, with Lindelof and Shaw as the outside center backs seems alright.

Seems ok on paper, but it's big risk. if Axel is fit I'd play him.

8 defensive players? Gareth is that you?

Have a weird feeling we're going to win this. 2-1. Have seen a bit of PSG this season and they've been hit and miss. Okay, Neymar wasn't playing but wasn't overly impressed with how they played. I'll probably be wrong and we'll get spanked 4-0, but if we play well we can definitely get at them. Bruno and Pogba to score. VDB has to start. My midfield would be a diamond - Fred, Pogba, VDB and Bruno.

Not sure you can leave McTom out after his Monstrous performance at NewCastle.

They're going to be coming for blood. Champions league finalist vs Europa league semi finalist. I'm questioning anybody with funny feelings that we are winning this

No Greenwood, Bailly, Maguire or Cavani makes a tough game even more difficult. To be honest I have bad vibes about this game. PSG much improved from the side United beat as proved by their final appearance a few months ago. The first objective is to avoid embarrassing defeat but a defeat is very likely and the two games against leipzig will be key in this group, a point or win against PSG would be a huge bonus.

RoJones in defence? It's been a while
Neither traveled but I'd honestly like to see Rojo over any of the other combos we can have with the list that did travel. I don't think Rojo is in the CL squad though.
    We'll either see a back 5 of AWB - Lindelof - TFM - Shaw - Telles or a back 4 of AWB - Lindelof - TFM - Shaw.
    Maguire must be injured.

Whatever the lineup is, imagine the scenes if we manage to come away with a point or 3. Neymar's antics would be priceless.

So who is supposed to be out for PSG then. I heard that Neymar is suspended ?

    So something like

    Dave
    AWB, Lindelof, McTommy, Shaw, Telles
    Fernandes, Fred, Pogba
    Rashford, Martial.
Need to fullbacks to really push on and Fred to work his man bit off. But a solid lineup, with lots of energy.

I’m intrigued by your last sentene. It didn’t work against Newcastle, we were dogshit for 75 minutes and only won after Fred was subbed out. Before our second goal and the following, we looked mid-table, not winning the midfield battle. In other words, please explain.

We have to run a back 4 if everyone is out. Wouldn't imagine Ole putting Matic out there against one of the best attacking teams.

Rubbish, apart from maybe 10 minutes at the start of the 2nd-half we were in total control.

You have a short memory, for a dogsshit midfield performance watch replays of CP, Brighton and Spurs, those games were a masterclass in incompetent midfield performances. Scot and Fred were outstanding in comparison.

The game was open by minute 75 allowing creative players more opportunities.

I'd happily start with Fred and Mctominay any day of the week despite Fred not being match fit on Saturday I.e. only starting about 3 games in the last 7 months.

Makes it interesting now with Maguire and Bailly not traveling.
Looking at previous matches where United were underdogs, Ole played three at the back, this is a definite possibility, but who? Lindelof certainly, but would we play Axel, or TFM? Not sure either would start seeing that they have not played there this season, so we could see Shaw at LCB, with Telles starting at LWB. Scott has figured at RCB recently for Scotland, so a good chance we will see this formation. AWB will start at RWB.
Front two will be Rashford and Martial, so that leaves the midfield minefield, which three would we play to stop PSG cutting through with ease, and also have some creativity in there. I think Matic will start, as PSG do whip a few crosses in, so his height would be an advantage, especially as I don't rate Lindelof as great in the air, in fact I think he is poor aerially. Bruno should play as he can create things even when not really in the game, which leaves one place for Fred, Pogba or VDB. Personally I would start Fred. I know this is very defensive, but PSG do push a lot of players forward, we wouldn't be leaving space behind for Mbappe to utilise with his pace, we will have Telles pushing forward on the left, and, if AWB has gained a little confidence from his goal, then he could be a surprise on the right, Fred has a terrific engine, so could get up and down the pitch centrally, would give us a lot of bite in midfield. I don't trust Pogba to do the hard yards in there, but would obviously be a lot more creative when going forward, just depends how much of the ball we get, not a tremendous amount I would think. Whatever team Ole picks we will be massive underdogs, I just hope every player plays to their full potential, and we can get a result, PSG do have a habit of freezing on the night.
