I don't mean leadership in the usual sense, but in relation to the 3 at the back system which is a little alien to our players, particularly those like Shaw or McTominay who are not centre backs to begin with. Understand both have played in this position/system in the past but usually alongside an experienced player who is used to the system. This leadership thing is a bit overstated imo.
Everyone should take responsibility in performances. Senior players should lead by example and younger players should not be afraid of taking on responsibility. It’s about the character within the team as a unit.
They will likely require guidance on positioning, when to mark, when to cover etc. Not sure who can/will do that in Maguire's absence.
