12? Thought it was 9 with 5 subs.

I read 12 on MEN earlier. Could well be 9, they might have confused it with internationals where you are allowed 12.

9 or 12 doesn't make much different really. The key is 5 subs.

Odd. I know he's not the player he used to be, but 32 isn't that old and Mata proved last game that he can still be a difference maker for United.

Maybe a bit but he hasn;t played the full 90 in some time and it's probably a great idea to keep him fit for Chelsea. We need that result more than we do away to PSG in the CL group stage.

Would be a strange one if that's the case. Given his current form and the 5-sub rule

Perhaps but as allulded above, one can argue that we don't need this result as much as we need one at the weekend.

Not a fan of moving McT to CB, I would like to give this chance to one of our kids.

I think Mengi is more ready than Tuanzabe (perhaps due to fitness) as he was on the bench on a few occasions this season.

    ----------------DDG---------------
    ----Lindelof-Mengi-Shaw
    AWB---Pogba----Fred---Telles
    --------------Fernandes------
    ------Rashford------Martial
That’s not a bad lineup, but why toss Mengi into the deep end? McT would offer more experience & a hopefully cooler head if we go down one early.

So Telles will probably start after only arriving Thursday, but Cavani won’t get any run out due to fitness? I get that he hasn’t played a match in a while, but a short run out late in the match would do him well to get acclimated to play later in the week, no?

    Who has travelled?
David de Gea, Dean Henderson, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Alex Telles, Brandon Williams, Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek, Facundo Pellistri, Daniel James, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Odion Ighalo

So if we're 3-0 up with 5 minutes to go, pellestri gets on?

All jokes aside. Where is Axel on the lineup prediction?

Personally it's a risk worth taking, we are only in a group stage so this game isn't a huge decider if we lose to PSG.

Secondly, we're in desperate need for a new CB, Mengi is very highly rated by Ole and the coaching staff and this is a great opportunity for him to stake a claim for a first team spot.

Lastly, putting McT in CB will not make much of a difference to the final result IMO.

Edit - I've just realised Mengi hasn't travelled anyway!

Actually think AWB wouldn’t be a bad choice over Shaw in a back 3 given he’s better at 1:1 defending however then would have a gap at RWB, James could have played but probably won’t due to playing at the weekend.

It’s difficult when we haven’t seen Telles in a United shirt. But my intuition is that Shaw and Telles is better than AWB and Williams - I think those are the options?

    Hahaha, didn’t realize it myself.

I feel we need to take this game very seriously. We are in no way a lock to get out of this group. Not gaining a point or three tomorrow might decide if we go through to knockout or have to deal with Europa again.

    Thanks.

Its not a PSG fixture if it doesn't start with an injury crisis and end with di Maria crying.

We’re allowed 5 subs in the CL aren’t we? So we might actually see this Pellestri guy

scares the life out of me because 2 out of 3 centre backs are playing out of position, and have to find a way to keep Mbappe, Neymar and DiMaria quiet.

I was initially in favour of a 3412 shape, but now think we should go to 4132.

If I’m being honest with myself I just don’t see Ole leaving Pogba on the bench for this. So....

    DDG
    McT—Lindelof—Shaw
    Bissaka———-Matic———-Telles
    Bruno————Pogba
    Martial—Rashford

Please no matic or pogba or they’ll probably run rings around us.
I disagree. With news of Paredes, Pereira and Verratti being out, I think we need to play our heavy hitters and try to dominate the midfield. I think Pogba should start.

Mata will not start and we can't go with so much inexperience in the back..OGS will have 5 back there no doubt!!!
Telles has recent UCL experience and played for Brazil last week. He has to start in that back 5, right?!

Yeah I was just hoping for him to just get a short run out too but not going to happen unfortunately, would have definitely helped him ahead of a possible appearance against Chelsea.

He has't played since March - that's SEVEN MONTHS without football. Today was only his SECOND training session - there was absolutely no chance of him being involved tomorrow. I will also bet my life that he won't be involved vs Chelsea

Certainly would have been up for whatever minutes he played. That would have effectively countered any fitness levels over twenty-ish minutes.

Yeah you are probably right about no involvement on Sat either

So at this stage, how many players will PSG be missing for this one? Last time I saw they may only have 11 fit players to choose from.
