    Sancho has shown excellent linkup. What has he done wrong to warrant the abuse here?
    He hasn't created a single chance and has lost the ball in decent areas a few times. Linkup is good but you've got to also actually do something meaningful with the ball as a forward player. It's a pattern with him, he does very little unless he has a lot of space

    I’ve been a massive Sancho supporter, but honestly he’s getting tricky to defend right now. Void of confidence and conviction, just doesn’t seem to do what he seemingly did with ease in Germany. Still believe he can come good with the right backing and support.

    Eriksen and Case helping ease the loss of the CBs so far.

    Bruno, Eriksen and AWB have been really good. Antony has grown into the game.

    The only player I would say is playing badly is, unsurprisingly, Sancho
    Sancho has not been much worse than Antony in our overall play. Antony with the goal though which he anticipated well.

    Bruno had a great shot saved.

    Antony jerking around with his left.

    Sancho weak as feck and devoid of confidence.

    Martial getting molested but our only goal came from his only agressive movement.

    Eriksen good.
    AWB good.
    Lindelof best.
    Harry the usual shit.

    Thanks!

    Well that's completely wrong. Bruno eriksen and VL easily have been better
    And do you believe them?

    No, but I believe opinions of players performances can often be strongly influenced by narratives and punditry and that looking at a purely metric based judgement can provide an interesting contrast that often challenges perceptions.

    He has been average, a couple of bad moments but he has been the most active of all our defenders.

    Wonder if aerial duels won has a big swing for defensive players on their algorithm?

    Well probably. The issue is that does it count negative the duels lost? And how much? Forrest hit the bar because he lost the header, no matter how many other pointless duels won, he lost the biggest one.

    It’s almost as whoscored’s ratings don’t show that much…

    I think he must have been terrible the first few minutes. I started watching from 12 or so, and he's been okay for me.

    When Sancho receives the ball, he typically slows up and waits for others to make runs instead of taking his man on or god forbid shooting himself.

    Maguire is so bad he is now judged on how many mistakes he can avoid. Just not making a mistake is regarded as a good game.

    Sancho has shown excellent linkup. What has he done wrong to warrant the abuse here?
    Lost all duels so far and yet to beat his man. Not much between him and Antony though, except the goal. They've both been poor.

    Not the best half for Bissaka

    You do realise we are the team NOT playing in red today?

    Wan-Bissaka has been excellent, probably one of the best games he's had on the ball this season.

    He's been very good in possession.

    Don't really understand why people go through all the mental gymnastics to defend Maguire in here, he's fecking shite. No way one could look at this match, or any match this season, and tell me he gets undeserved criticism. Lucky that handball didn't get called as well.

    Never mind the performance, I'll take the 3 points by hook or by crook. We're dropping like flies. Having said that, Sancho needs to come off but there's no options on the bench.
    There are lot of options. Every player on the bench can do more. Probably even our goalkeeper. Sancho is so bad right now, that I have gone from being critical and disappointed to just feeling so sorry for him. He needs to be sold and lets not do a Pogba and wait until his contract run out.

    Sancho has not been much worse than Antony in our overall play. Antony with the goal though which he anticipated well.

    Almost every time Sancho has gotten on the ball he’s lost it or given it away. The times when he doesn’t do that he just adds nothing to the play while on the ball anyway.

    Antony is constantly trying to get things moving forward, taking on players, playing a positive pass, etc.

    If Sancho had a quarter of the positivity of Antony he would be a better player.

    Quite comfortable, a bit rubbish (and mostly just hopeful) defending on set pieces. We will get this over the line I reckon.

    If Rashford was fit this match would be over. Bruno has played several passes into that inside left channel that Marcus would have gobbled up.

    I'm relieved to be ahead. We have played well but we have been defensively ropey. Plus our wingers have made really bad decisions in the final third. Especially Sancho.

    Will be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for the second half. We should walk it but we are not making the most of our dominance. And you have to wonder how long our defence can keep making slips without punishment.

    Why not just Rashford?
    Because you need rotation in a long campaign where you want to win it all. Options must be capable of taking over when the call is in.

    If Rashford starts, Mitoma finishes in to end the game. If Mitoma starts a game, Rashford finishes the game.

    Sancho has shown excellent linkup. What has he done wrong to warrant the abuse here?
    It’s confirmation bias with most. If they dwell on his misgivings then the things he does well don’t actually happen.

    It’s his turn with most. Funnily enough a number of his detractors were Harry fecking Maguires biggest defendants.

    He just seems so weak on the ball, when he's under pressure, he doesn't seem to be able to extract himself from the pressure, either by skills, or by passing.

    He thrives in tight spaces and close support.

    Plunking him on the left with plenty of space is a waste of a player.

    And without Shaw there, he's useless.

    Dalot is way too far from him and Martial isn't looking to hook up.

    No strength;
    Dithering on simple plays;
    Low threshold for pain;
    No desire to get stuck in;
    No penetration in his game.

    He won't get anywhere good in the Premier League if he doesn't ditch his vanilla brand of football. So far he is the Tom Cleverley (M. No Penetration) of all wingers.

    It's actually infuriating watching him pull out of every single 50/50 challenge and just let the opposition win the tackle by default. Surely his tackle win % is extremely low?

    Playing with Maguire is like playing a game on survival mode. As long as he is on the field...we will need 3-4 goals for security.

    God knows what the consensus in here is but I think we've been excellent going forward, very positive, lots of good situations, could have had three or four. Erikson and Bruno running the show. They've created feck all apart from set pieces, where they're genuinely dangerous.
    Cheers, from what I just saw in regards to first half highlights, the forward line look pretty slick, Bruno included. Feels like we'll need at least one more goal though, I don't trust that back line to keep a clean sheet.

    I think he must have been terrible the first few minutes. I started watching from 12 or so, and he's been okay for me.
    Yeah, his first two actions of the game were his worst (so far).

    Need another goal at least , they are most likely going to score at least one from a set piece.

    Bruno excellent again.

    Me too, but at this point I just don’t see it ever coming off. I can’t think of a game where he’s properly played with conviction

    Solid(ish) half - just got to be weary about their set-peices/someone dropping a bollock. Maguire hasn't been good, and Sancho is an absolute waste of space. Everyone else has been good

    How many more games til the end of the season? The Chuckle Brothers make me feel so nervous every time the ball goes near them. Lindelof isn't too bad when paired with a competent partner e.g. Licha or Varane but the 2 together is squeaky bum time every time. We need to take advantage of other results going our way this weekend
    As someone previously said, Maguire could have turned Baresi and Maldini into liabilities if he was their centre back partner.

    I think Maguire needs to go in the summer, for his own good and for United. Every time he plays, there's like this sub-plot with him. It's kind of like Pogba, but without the unprofessionalism.
