Eriksen, Bruno rested v Reading then. Wise to rest Shaw and Varane and the latter will hopefully not need to be brought on.

Strong enough United starting 11 to win. Expecting Forest to be well fired up with their home support roaring them on, important to silence them early.

Scottish League Cup has been going for 14 years more and there aren't as many teams involved.

We didn't really prioritise it under Fergie either, while City's managers in the post-Fergie era have.

Almost full strength is no surprise. Forest will give it their all and any complacency may be punished. If the players can get a convincing win it can give a bit of confidence boost after what has surely been a deflating week.

I’m not sure where this impact sub stuff has come from. He is an average player and will be an average sub.
