Well according to Ole, they were the team used in previous FA Cup games and he wanted to keep them together again. So I think in his mind, they the closest gelling second string team. Guess they don't gel as good as our main squad though.

He’s made such a difference. Love the guy.Miss someone making runs in behind. Mata, Jesse and Bruno are more ball to feet players.Mata and lingard cannot should not be playing together.We have so much ground to catch up on to challange City or Liverpool. But we keep players like Lingard around because of what I can only assume is pity, or because he was once decent for our under 14 side. I doubt he would get a game for this soon to be relegated Norwich side.

It's actually incredible how many good moves end at Lingard. It's not because he's a bad player but he is just so loose in the final third.The difference in quality when lingard plays is staggering. Offers absolutely nothing except a lot of running.
