Lindelof was following the run of Pukki. It's Maquire who should have dealt with it when Garner got nutmegged. Why was he going chasing after a CF that was already being tracked by his fellow CB?When was the last time we had over 20 shots? Or 11 on target? Even against this Norwich side that is impressive.
Nice maybe.It costs us 3 points vs Liverpool. Wouldn't it be nice if they just stopped making such awful mistakes?
But I'll try and take the positives of three points and more than one goal.

Practise, mental conditioning, we've struggled with set pieces for years not just pens but corners and free kicks too, it can't just be luck surely

Different position though. He's happy to stay deep and quarterback while Cleverly was trying to be a hybrid winger, attacking mid, center mid.
I'm optimistic, he has that knack of just knowing what he wants to do before he gets the ball. Very Carrick like.
All he does is track runs and try and cut passing lanes, always running backwards. Sometimes you need to step up to intercept or tackle instead of always needing your CM's to close down for you.
His style gives attackers too much space and pulls us too deep.
Agreed! And McTominay was still our best player, yet again. Starting to become a habit, and that is awesome.
Right. And how would bringing in Williams for a carded Young would not make us stronger (and maybe avoid a goal) instead of bringing useless Lingard at a time and in a game which he didn't add anything to?
Williams needs playing time. He could have had some more easily
Lingard needs minutes to build up his fitness as he's returning from an injury. You might consider him useless but the management clearly plans on using him this season. And no manager is gonna take off an experienced defender and put on a youngster just for the sake of it.

Stream fell apart around the 90th minute so did not see the last 6-7 minutes but 3 good and sorely needed points, finally a win in the league again, away from home which has been tough for this team. Most importantly it was a fun game, been a long time huh. Lucky with other results in the league as well, although I would have liked Spurs to beat Liverpool. Hopefully something to build on, we have a good run of games until spurs in start of December and we need to win them all.
First penalty was never a penalty (Badly taken but the save was deserved), second penalty was fair but again, badly taken. Krul was great today and is a good penalty stopper but they were still badly taken. I think we have missed 3 or 4 out of 6 or 7 so far this season (we have gotten 3 more than any other team as well I think), that is quite bad, maybe we should start practicing penalties?
I must admit that Fred and Pereira are looking better with run of games but they still have a lot to prove in my opinion, especially Fred. Was surprised to see Young finish the game, he was so bad and looked like he could get a red for a while. Hopefully Williams can get more time and than get Shaw back to keep Young as much away from the field as possible.
Valuable minutes for Garner and Greenwood, although I am hoping Greenwood can go out on loan in january if we manage to sign a new striker or loan someone like Mandzukic. Lingard did little to nothing with his minutes, I know Gomes played on friday but hope he gets some minutes soon instead of Lingard and Mata.
Wan Bissaka got himself a silly yellow but was solid otherwise, had some duels and battles in his area and as usual he got on top, great defender with huge future especially if he can improve further up the field.
McTominay was immense and my MOTM despite that mistake leading up to the Norwich goal, that was bad and Maguire did not look good there either. Annoying how we can't seem to keep a clean sheet and always leak one in.
Rashford also did well for the most part, 1 goal & 1 assist, so he was up there for MOTM. His first touch from that beauty of a pass from James and cool finish was great, his link up for the Martial goal was also good, great to have him back. Especially since it looks like we only have 4 players who can score in James, Rashford, Martial and McTominay.
All in all some positives, Norwich were very bad but we finally attacked for most of the game. Could have score 3-4 more goalsLast edited:

You are right but honestly if a pen is taken well enough, there ain't much a keeper can do even if he is advanced- Status
