Januzaj is not a no 10, so looks like Kagawa and Mata will be playing there throughout the season. Once Kags went off, Welbs and Chicha stopped to understand each other. Nick Powell has a good shot on him, but that has been pretty much it so far. Ando is not doing bad, while fullbacks are not providing width and cant take on their opponents. Evans is building pressure on himself, the lad needs to calm down, as overtrying to correct a mistake usually leads to unforced errors. If we do want to win this game, I would take Powell off, switch Januzaj's and Welbeck's positions and start to pray, if we have not equalised by 70th minute.

I'm really not won over by this 3-5-2. The system pretty much places emphasis on the wing-backs, which (along with CB and CM) are our weakest areas. Moreover, with Hernandez up front the necessity for techinically-accomplished players to hold the ball up and participate in build-up play for 3-5-2 is further exposed.

I back LVG as a manager and I'm sure he knows better than I do, just puzzled as to why he thinks this system best serves the club's current needs...

Kin hell this is shite! We are carrying so much deadwood. Keane is never going to make it at this club as a defender. Ando, are you still here? Kagawa gets a little knock and he has to go off bless him. Chicha is his usual uninspiring self as a starter. Just put some bloody heart into it ffs!

We need a win just to get a bit of confidence. I thought the di maria signing would have done that but as soon as the other team scores we go back to looking like we are scared and no one wants to take the responsibly to score or anything only Powell so far. Hopefully we will change things around in the second half and get the win we need to kick start our season

Listening to David May and I think he is spot on. MK Dons want this more than some United players.

Maybe some know that their time at OT is coming to an end?

Welbeck, Kagawa, Hernandez, Evans are senior players and are not leading by example. Get them off (obviously Kagawa has already been replaced) what's the worse that can happen?

Not too worried TBF. The squad still has some flaws but these kind of a performances are actually quite typical of Van Gaal's teams, especially a predominantly second string side. The players are still getting used to his methods and tactics, hence the apparent disjointedness and individual errors. Also it bears an eerie similarity to his first season at Bayern where they lost to Mainz and drew with Bremen and Hoffenheim. They ended up winning the German Cup, the Bundesliga and reached the Champion's League finals. Even at Barcelona after early setbacks he turned the ship around in winning the UEFA Cup, La Liga, and Copa del Rey. Looking forward to a bit of the same at United. Starting with the second half.. :D

It's so easy to just blame the 352.

We need confidence, composure and bottle.

LVG as we all know made 10 changes after sunday's game. And he already knows our first team isn't comfortable with 3 at the back. Wonder why he didn't start with his classic 4-3-3 tonight!!

how many shots on target have we had in the last 250 minutes of football?
how many shots on target have we had over the last 12 months? feels like every goal weve scored for a year has been a set piece worldy from mata van persie or wayne.

Not sure what system has to do with players inability to control the ball and make simple passes... We lose the ball way to easily

Our passing is laughable. Is the ball made of burning coal? We are whacking it long virtually every time. The way some players control it reminds me of testing hot bath water with your toe.

Can you imagine what would be going on in the changing room if Fergie was in charge.... holss in walls, dents in heads and peopel sent to bed without supper!

So many people whining about the formation. It's the players. Powell keeps losing the ball. Hernandez is clearly off form, and Welbeck is trying hard but just not good enough. Once Kagawa went off, the link between midfield and attack disappears. Anderson is running and trying to win the ball back, but otherwise, he is not really doing anything else.

We have a real problem with this bunch of players. It's almost as if they don't have the brains to play.

    Or the heart.

5-3-2 is so easy to defend. It's built for teams that are going to dominate the ball so you can rush 'em on the break. Against 'weaker' sides it's utterly useless.

I think it's pretty much useless in the Premier League full stop. You either get pressed and end up losing the ball or the opposition sits back and just lets you pass while blocking off all danger areas. I don't see it ever working honestly. I hope we change back before it's too late.

The lack of urgency is telling. It's the single most soul sapping thing for a supporter to witness and it's been evident throughout our 3 games this season. The lack of urgency to pass the ball quickly and push up by pressing the opposition.

Fair point. Many of these players don't have big futures at the club. For mk dons, this is huge.

Have to say I am getting pissed off seeing LVG writing notes the whole time rather than looking at the game! I was hoping he would bring back passion to the bench but it's like a fecking morgue. Yet anothe United game during which I could easily turn over, read a bok or go to bed. The only thing worse is SDavid May's pundditry. Every question is met with "You'll have to ask the players/the manager/someone else. And he's paid for that shite...oh and someone should put the pies out of his reach!!!

Hopefully one of the things he's written down is "3-5-2 IS feckING SHITE" - otherwise I might have to go there and burn the fecking thing

scary how many players are stealing a living - playing for this club. I really want a mass clearout. Powell makes me laugh, not good enough at this level... same goes for everyone playing today apart from Welbeck and Januzaj.

We just don't have the composure to play it out from the back, leave it to the Bayern's and Barcelona's, who cares how we win as long as we win.

Also this is a disgrace, some big transfer fees in that team not to mention the wages they've earned in their time at the club. Half the team must have Champions League experience too, shambles.

how many shots on target have we had over the last 12 months? feels like every goal weve scored for a year has been a set piece worldy from mata van persie or wayne.

Exactly. If we play 4-4-2 it won't get better. People already forgetting how easy Swansea found it when we lost Herrera. We have no belief and no leaders.

People really think formation is the problem? If we played badly with 4-3-3 they would yell to turn back to 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 or sthing.

    Welbeck- sell at full time
    Hernandez- sell at half time
Anderson - keep for this competition
    Vermil- train with first team
Powel- send him to military camp to bring him back from a world where he thinks he is maradona
Evans- Send to a mental hospital
Janko - He is new and probably nervous, but he not only looks like valencia but plays like "turn back tony"
    Keane - decent
James- Good in friendlies, just not good enough here,he doesnt have the pace or even the crossing
    de gea - Nothing
    Januzaj- no impact
Kagawa- was the best player hence was going to be injured.

Just imaging adding Rojo to this back 4! we'll be all over the gaff, more gaps than the London Underground.

Probably at least half of the players in our squad shouldn't be playing for arguably the biggest club in the world.
I know thats harsh but the truth hurts.
