I would just love to see Timbo in midfield ahead of Fellaini. Sometimes Mourinho just plays it too safe, I doubt we would lose a game purely because of TFM.

We simply HAVE to capitalize this time, and through the tail end of the season. Top four is definitely on.

Didn't we quite possibly actually lose a match just because of subbing TFM out last season, against Spurs? At White Hart Lane, the score was 0–0, and the *********** subbed TFM off, and our defence went to shite and we subsequently also lost 0–3.

I'd really like to see more of TFM too, but it's probably not gonna happen tomorrow, unfortunately…

His conference about the game and fixture congestion in general said that if it's too much, he'd have to play the "Nicky Butt Boys" but if he does that then teams around Middlesbrough like Swansea and Hull will complain. Delegation of duty really, he just doesn't want to use them.

Would love to see Timothy get a game here ahead of Fellaini, won't happen but what can you do. So long as Rashford and Shaw get a game I'm happy.
LVG would have dared to do it. On a positive note Fellaini has shown some indication on rising form, and that would certainly come in handy now.

It's really time most players raised their game like Rojo and Herrera has done this season. To be honest not many of the players we have today have shown anything close to Man Utd class. You look at the goal distribution and it's the typical spread of a team playing in the lower regions of the league table. Absolutely shocking. I mean, Juan Mata is not exactly a goal machine, and yet he's our 2nd best scorer. Martial has had a crap season and is 3rd. Wayne Rooney scored only 5 FREAKING GOALS :eek: Just what the fuuck.

To think we're really in the race for 4th place in the league is unbelievable. Totally unbelievable. Credit goes to the defense, goalkeeper and Ibra of course.

We can't score goals. Our best two players are injured. Everyone is knackered. We've blown every chance to get into the top four we've had. 'Boro have the new manager effect. Trump is President. My dissertation is due in 10 days. And its raining.

    Away loss.

I have no confidence we'll win tomorrow.

We really can't blow this opportunity again.

You're exactly right, a football result against Boro is the least of our worries!

I've gone for a 1-1 draw, every time i get my hopes up, this useless lot let me down, i'm sure i'll be much more positive 5 mins pre-kick off though!

I'm pretty confident that we will win this but it is hard to be that sure of it when we don't have our strongest XI and we also don't know how they'll react after the manager leaving. However, their inability to score goals surely won't go away and considering how lively Rashford looked up top against Chelsea, I fancy him to do the business tomorrow.

Also, Jose and Karanka are good mates and Jose doesn't seem at all happy with his sacking. He'll really want to stuff them.

A youngster who has not played in midfield all season or a guy who has been one of our best players in the last few games he's played? Come on, give the mop a break. He's been good of late.

Leaving the responsibility to an inexperienced youngster who has barely had any playing time in a crucial game like this when you have your two most important midfielders out would be suicide.

Interesting observation i just noticed from the points table:

    1. We`ve only lost 3 matches all season so far, which is lowest in league along with chelsea and spurs

    2. This is what messes us up, we have highest draws, at 10, which is joint with Middlesborough who also have the most draws with 10

I mean not mobile enough. Sorry if it's the wrong word.
ok, so it means they dont move around enough. Please understand I'm not trying to be smart. I just hear the term used alot on here and I just can't agree with its use based on. y own. understanding of the word.

Middlesbrough have been really poor. Yes we are missing some really key players but I think Mkhitariyan will be key tomorrow. If he manages to release Rashford, we could possibly get all 3 points. My main man, Mkhi is the key to unlock their defense.

We'll play 3-5-2 and create 1 chance, while Boro probably won't create any. It's all about whether we take that one chance or not.

Any word on Blind, Rooney, and Martial yet? Pretty sure we'll be missing at least Pogba and Schweinsteiger through injury, along with the obvious suspended players in Ibrahimovic and Herrera. If we don't get a few players back from injury then I see a strong chance of us playing a back three again, especially with the lack of pace in central midfield.

    de Gea
    Bailly Smalling Rojo
    Valencia Carrick Fellaini Young
    Mata
    Mkhitaryan Rashford
    ---
Romero; Jones, Darmian, Shaw; Fosu-Mensah, Lingard; Martial

Pretty much a 'worst case scenario' team, I'd like to have at least a couple of players who can make more of an impact such as Martial and Lingard. Just need to win at all costs. Draw seems like a very probable result all things considered but our away record is pretty good, especially against the lesser sides.

    -------------De Gea
    Valencia--Smalling--Jones--Rojo
    ---------Carrick--Fellaini
    ----Mata--Mkhitaryan--Lingard
    ------------Rashford

Perhaps Young in to cover the left flank, but this won't be far off. No way we go three at the back away to Middlesbrough.

Jose has done brilliantly to make us the underdog away at Middlesbrough. I expect a pretty tedious affair, but we should win.

Agreed. He's a wum from way back & taking the piss! The pundits & journo's fall for it every time ... idiots!

He's as always, taking pressure off the players, having a go at the FA, suggesting we're the under-dog all with at the same time ... and with a straight face! :)

Just like when he said it was the right decision to fire his mate, the ex-boro boss; I think he's actually so angry he have our lad's pumped up to play this lot and it will be a comfortable 2 nil win, unless Rashford & Martial "show up"
... and then it'll be 3 or 4 nowt!

Seems sensible to me – Mkhi and Rashford are really important for this game and have the ability to demonstrate this ‘importance’.

Mkhi unlocks and Rashford goes for goal (hopefully scores as our chance per ratio is not good – by the way overall and not a reflection on Rashford). I see (hope) Mkhi scores a very important goal for us – a player of true class.

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Rojo Shaw
    Carrick Fellaini
    Mkhitaryan Mata Lingard
    Rashford

Possibly Jones for Rojo but I bet this is the team.

Fellaini has been good, no denying it. I just don't like seeing him play in our midfield when a youngster could do an even better job. Fosu-Mensah would benefit from more games. I just hate seeing someone who is no better than Fosu (if he was actually given a chance) playing ahead of him because they're bigger and older.

We have a chance to jump ahead of Arsenal with a win.

I'm fully expecting us to waste it

That would be in line with all the times we have drawn in the last few months, when others have lost.
I am expecting a draw or a very narrow win, by 1 goal. No Ibra means scoring a goal is going to be very tough.

TFM is a bit overrated on this forums.

He's shown nothing in midfield to justify this constant calls for a midfield start.

We went with three at the back vs Rostov at home, a game we knew we would dominate, a game where we had to score goals. Usually we go 4231 if we want to attack.
However I believe the reason we were playing 3 vs Rostov was to rotate the team and give time off to some individuals or take the weight of the shoulders of others.
We started very bright vs Chelsea with that system and I think Mourinho might deploy it again.

Besides Martial was back in training since Tuesday, but Mourinho had his own reasons not to include him for the Rostov game.
I think we'll go for 523 or 343, however you want to interpret it. Mikhi, Martial and Rashford upfront with Carrick and Fellaini in the middle. Only question is who would be on the left wingback, Blind or Darmian or Young.

We should win this at a stroll. How many times have I thought that this season?
