    He’s ignored VDB, who was wide open for a clear through ball in the first 15 mins. 3 times. He’s doing well but needs to pass it.
     
    0-0 at half time. Get ready for the BBC pundits to complain about how miserable it’s been before saying “but you can tell this is ready to blow wide open in the second half!”
     
    Can someone explain to me why it's not a yellow for Noble there when he shoved van de Beek out of the way?

    Yeah, he’s a trier. He’s not very good on the ball, but at least he isn’t hiding from it. Van de Beek’s ‘movement’ is just him shirking responsibility.

    But he keeps getting himself in the crowd rather than losing the opponent players. Too risky to pass or do tiki taka in the crowd.
     
    Very disappointed with the side Ole has picked. We should be going for this. Poor game but we're doing nothing with the ball and looking average. Bring on the artillery
     
    Fred is having way too much of the ball for a start. No idea why he's playing in a role where the play is going through him. He a very limited player, and this position is certainly not playing to his strengths.
     
    Feel like i just watched an entire half of matic and fred passing sideways in midfield.

    Need to move the ball quicker and inject some more tempo, one goal is all we need to open the game up.
     
    Not sure I've ever seen us have so much of the ball and create so little. Put Bruno in Fred's position and we are a couple up by now I reckon. He has so much space but can't do anything with it. Not his fault I love what he brings, but creativity is not it.
     
    Frustrating first half, we aren’t playing too bad, a lot of blocked shots but not enough penetration. Bruno will likely come on in the 2nd half.
     
    Fred poor distribution that half. Telles our most creative player. Van De Beek struggling to get involved enough
     
    West Ham playing for the 0-0, not a huge deal we can do but keep knocking at the door. No need for Fred and Matic.
     
    We miss Pogba tonight. We only have one player in the squad with top quality in building up and picking passes from deeper. West Ham are well set, and we’re bright in the final third, but I’d really like to see us add someone with real top class ability in the actual middle of the pitch, someone 10 yards behind Bruno.

    VDB looks like he doesn't know what he's meant to be doing. Taking up very strange positions (this is nothing new though)

    I think that’s a big reason he’s getting slated in here, narratives been set and we need a scapegoat when we’re not winning.
     
    Decent so far just need to move the ball a bit quicker. need rashford to trust telles more!
     
    Same old story, can’t seem to break down a low block. Very slow and pedestrian.

    Telles has been our best player
     
    You need your No. 10 to link midfield and attack, and VDB is doing OK but he's not creating anything. He's trying to be on the end of things, but he needs to be the supplier.

    When that creative responsibility falls to the CM's, Matic and Fred aren't good enough to unlock West Ham.

    Overall, decent half but need a goal to draw West Ham out of their shell.
     
    Is it all that surprising when our attacking midfielder isn't playing as an attacking midfielder? De Beek started playing like a striker. Now, he seems to be trying to play like a winger.

    West Ham has a pretty good defence, and they are sitting back.
     
    pretty meh first half, Bruno should have started, VDB is offering nothing for me.
    Crosses in the box have been pretty poor.
    I thought Fred did OK , showed more then most.
    Telles best player for me.
    Jenas is shocking as a commenter, mind you Linaker and co are not any better.
     
    Hook Fred for Bruno and drop Van de Beek in midfield. He’s got to do so much more with these opportunities.
     
    Why has there not even been a discussion on Noble... That's a tactial foul!!!!
     
    It's been ok. I think if Fernandes or Cavani were on the pitch we'd be a goal or two up. Been impressed with Telles so far, definitely his best game for us.

    I really don't think he has what it takes to be a like for like Bruno replacement. Need to find some new tactics for him to succeed. He can keep the ball ticking, but is not really a proper #8 / #6 / #10.

    The positions he has taken up so far are what Bruno typically takes in a United game - run in behind when CM / CB is on the ball, create overload on left / right flanks etc. but he doesn't seem to have Bruno's knack for, first finding that space to receive the pass, and playing that quick forward ball once he's given the ball.
