I formally apologise for talking about how 'intelligent' Van De Beek's one-touch play is...and that other people just need to get on his wavelength.

He's an absolute coward of a player who acts like the ball is a hand grenade that he needs to have absolutely nowhere near him at all costs.

VDB is such an anonymous player. I can see him running around, but he doesn't get involved much in play. A few give and gos, the odd 1 2. Even the commentator mentioned how few touches he's had and that he needs to get more involved.

On the plus side, Telles is having his best game so far.

My prediction for this match:

- Rashford will atleast one more time run aimlessly with the ball.
- Fred will give the ball away atleast 2 more times.
- Either Fred or Telles will give away a not neccessery free-kick in a dangerous area.
- AWB will miss the ball when attempting a dribble or a pass.
- Lindelöf will drive forward only to make a pass to AWB.
- Fred will attempt a shot with his right-foot.
- Martial will get into a dangerous position and get blocked, or miss the goal.

He seems to be more of a goalscorer than a creator, judging by his stats. His creation stats aren't all that good. The 10 assist season seems to be an anomaly, where 25% of the chances he made were scored. That is not sustainable.

Solskjaer was quite animated with Van de Beek just then and Carrick also had a word with him. It’s unfavourable for him he is playing in the same position as Fernandes, because it’s a near-impossible act to follow but, the more you watch Van de Beek, the more you wonder why he is playing there. There’s an argument to play him with Fred or Matic and take one of them off for Fernandes in the second-half if it stays this way.
