I think Maguire is as crap as the next person, but he's a lot stronger than Kane.
Strength doesn’t beat brains in this game. Last season they lobbed the ball of Lindelof and Maguire for Kane to do a 1v1. Thankfully Dean was there to run out and clear it.

If de gea was in nets it would of been a goal probably.

Remember when Maguire got done by an easy ball, which he let bounce In his own six yard box before manhandling Luke Shaw which stopped him clearing the ball and allowed spurs to score in this fixture last season? That was fun wasn’t it.

Very true, but that's about Maguire being bad, not Kane doing something notably good.

My point is that this applies for basically all players Vs Maguire.

Last 3 results vs Spurs at Old Trafford:

2018/19 United-Spurs 0-3 - basically beginning of the end for Jose
2019/20 United 2-1 Spurs - Jose back at Old Trafford
2020/21 United 1-6 Spurs - Jose back again but now they embarass us

Have a feeling it'll be a high-scoring game again but not confident at all.

I am interested, why do you accuse the players of bottling it? They just aren’t very good, why does everyone have such high expectations of our players. Where do you expect us to be? Ronaldo is 37 and completely finished at this level yet he is leading our attack.

The board writ off the season when they allowed Ole to continue after we lost 5-0 to Liverpool. I can imagine the players are all very demoralised and angry just like us that the club gave up on the season. We didn’t even make any signing to push for top 4 in January.

The board have bottled it not the players, they are doing their best but just aren’t good enough.

Yes, I completely agree the overall quality of the squad is very poor. But at the end of the day they are professionals that are getting paid hundreds of thousands and have the privilege to be playing at the highest level. The least they can do is put a shift in. I get we won't be winning anything with these players, but I at least expect them to win over 'smaller' teams, if not for the club, then for their own pride. But they just can't be bothered, because it would require to have pride in the first place. Pride, not arrogance.

would covid explain some of the poor fitness shown in the recent matches, real dropoff in physical perfomance.

After his Birthday too. Hope he does well. After a few errors, People forget that he’s still a pretty good keeper…I REALLY hope this doesn’t bite me in the ass:lol:
As long as he doesn't give Kane half of the goal to shoot at like he did with Salah it'd be an improvement

Fair enough, when you say it like that then I do agree the minimum effort isn’t there. It is very depressing to see us playing games like friendlies when we should be going all out gung-ho for top 4 :(

David de Gea, Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay have all tested positive for Covid or not?

The English journalists are dreadful, second guessing and haven't a clue. A situation like that should have the facts before it's published.

If no De Gea, McTominay or Bruno assuming we’ll go 352

    Henderson
    Lindelof - Varane - Maguire
    Dalot - Fred - Matic - Pogba - Telles
    Sancho - Ronaldo

No idea who is fit and who isn't but if most of the players are available I'd go:

    --------------------------Cavani---------------------------
    Sancho-----------------------------------------Elanga
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    -----------Pogba----------------Bruno-----------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------------Matic----------------------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    Telles----------------------------------------------Dalot
    ------------------Varane-----Lindelof-----------------
    ----------------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------------De Gea---------------------------

Maguire and AWB should not feature again this season unless injury necessitates it

In any other circumstance I'd say we squeeze this one out 2-1 but Spurs are gonna be in a battle with West Ham for 5th so I think they will take care of us.

Spurs are 100% scoring in this match, that much is a given, and I don't see us scoring 2 in our current inept form.
That is my ideal lineup as well but Varane and Dalot won't play today and I doubt Cavani will either. Matic cannot play 90mins anymore. As soon as Rashford and Jesse come on as subs we concede two goals, Maguire will make sure we concede at least one before that.

We are losing this 1-3 or 2-4 at best

Nothing in the past three days has made me change my mind about a 3-0 defeat today and going out of the CL on Tuesday night

I wonder what we'll get today. Will we be let down yet again? Seems likely.

In recent years we have at least been able to get the odd result against one of the bigger teams but it seems less and less likely these days.

Rumours the front 3 are Sancho - Rashford - Elanga
