Just imagine, we can get Lingard and Herrera off, move Smalling up as deperation and stick Lukaku, Fellaini, Pogba, Matic, Smalling AND McTominay in the box. Hilarity ensues.

Would probably break record for tallest team in league history.

Also looks like Mourinho's only idea for getting a solid defense these days is to just put a bunch of bodies back there and leave as many attackers as possible on the bench, instead of actually coaching them and organizing them.
If that was true, then any one of us would be able to do a better job than Mourinho. But it's not that simple, is it?

Freaking hell at least I got Lukaku, Smalling, Shaw, Pogba and DDG correct in my lineup. That's some funky stuff.

It's kinda sad I look at Spurs' lineup and am more impressed with theirs despite the fact they did even worse than us in the transfer window.

Players have only got themselves to blame for a defensive lineup. Their performance last week wasn't anywhere near good enough to prove we can be an attacking team atm.

    what did he say?

"If I don't play Valencia, Matic, Lingard when they're ready I don't think you'd accept it. I think you'd ask why I'm not playing important players when they're ready to play."

Since when does he care what the press says about who plays? Players should play on form surely.

Utterly insane if true. You can’t tell me that Matic will do a better job than Lindeloff or Bailly in a back three.
What? Any footballer would probably do better than those two. Absolute clowns they were last week.

This is probably a good lineup. For a team that we know will struggle to make too many chances/score goals, it's important we never repeat what happened last week. Matic playing between Jones and Smalling will improve our defense a great deal. This could be the way forward !

    I actually got 9/11 in the line-up.

Didn't think Herrera or Jones would start.

Pretty sure Moyes said something similar about Van Persie?

Shit team, that. Looking forward to seeing how Matic fares as a CB, but there's no width at all in that team - Mouriho is clearly setting us up to draw or nick a 1-0 win against the run of play. Such a smalltime attitude for a supposed big club managed by a top manager. Ah well, not expecting anything positive so let's see....

Sign of a manager losing control.

Fergie never gave a feck about the media or the fans questioning his methods because he was in complete control and 9/10 he was proven right anyway.

Is there a chance if we loose by more than 2 tonight he gets the sack ?
There is no universe in which he gets sacked after this game. If we do lose the media will go insane though and the press conference after will be hard to watch.

That’s a bold line up to be fair. Anything other than a win and knives are going to be out big time.

I was supposed to be going to this game tonight but had to give my tickets up due to family commitments.

Kind of glad that I’m not enduring the 9 hour round trip on the back of that line up

Don't think its bold at all, its pragmatic designed to keep defensive control and knick it with a goal pouncing on spurs mistakes.

    Worse than this?
What do you mean, that midfield is of CL winning calibre

Weak line up and bench, think we will lose now.
Martial,Bailly,Mata and Pereira nowhere to be seen, guessing Mou blames them for the Brighton defeat.
Mctominay has managed to grap a place on the bench, hes been awful since pre season.

United lineup actually kind of worries me.

Valencia's back and he'll add that experience and defensively he's better than Young from what I've seen. Matic is quality and again more experience, more composure .. and Smalling returning to the side is worrying since Kane seems to struggle up against him. We shall see.

Expect the Caf to go full AFTV mode if we lose. FullTImeDevils and the othe United channels probably praying for a defeat.

    In the dressing room

Credit to GifLord, here's a glimpse of inside Spurs' away changing room which was redesigned over the summer to be smaller and more drab:

If you think that is bad, here is Norwich's away dressing room:

I think this is quite spot on. Smalling is a very astute choice as he has strikers like Kane in his pocket. He generally struggles against nimble striker, he's up for the physical battle.

Gotta hope Smalling is able to pocket Kane again. If Kane plays well, Spurs win this game. I can see us having maybe one shot on target in each half and Spurs dominating possession.

    1-2 Spurs.

He won't ever play open football unless there is a centre back pairing which a a defensive rock at the back.
