Another hopeless, listless performance. We really need fans to start voting with their feet and staying away from matches.

I think we have been a bit unlucky today, we have had chances in the box but they have been blocked or saved, I mean the Rooney header from youngs cross, if it misses the defender it probably goes in, we need a break , I think when we score one the confidence will come back and a few more will be scored soon after.
You have to make your own luck, the fact that's among the best chances we've had in months should be depressing rather than uplifting. We've got Mata and Rooney as the players making runs into the box, that's not enough, they've got the combined physicality of a bouncy castle.

Depressing, not because we might lose or draw at home to a poor Swansea, but that LVG will probably still be here regardless of result because our board is awful

Would put Memphis on for Mata.

I'd put the fecking tea lady on for him at the moment. Rooney has quite rightly been called out for his form this season, but Mata has been equally as bad. He's in the team to create and score chances, yet I couldn't actually tell you what he does.

I've always admired van Gaal, even when shit hit the fan during his Bayern stint, but good grief... this is shockingly boring football. Maybe it really is time for him to go.

Actually don't think this is worse than the previous three games (which were more atrocious). But crappy nonetheless but I guess LVG would call this progress...

Surely I can't be the only one here who thinks we're playing worse today than we did against Stoke considering the opposition.

Well the demoralising part is sth the manager has managed already. We look shambles. And one has to ask himself how this man is still in job. So yes, showing the anger towards that fact is sth I'd like the matchgoers to do.
Then get a flight, buy a ticket to a match and do it yourself. I'm sure the guys and girls in the pubs around Old Trafford on a matchday would love to be told how 'stupid' they are for not booing their team on and off the pitch.

I'm watching this game on an american channel and by far the most entertaining stuff since the game started were the ridiculously bad car insurance commercials.

People are slowly drifting away from watching games.

Its fecking got to stop. He needs to retire. Or we need to sack him. Immediately too. Or at least once we have secured Pep/Mourinho. Would rather have Giggs as caretaker RIGHT NOW if we can get Pep.

Its not just the results, its hurting our brand and the ethos of the football club.

I actually thought this game was tomorrow... just came to redcafe and we were actually playing with completely unsurprising half time score of 0-0.

    looks like I didn't miss a thing.

Memphis (hey, we're desperate for a goal) on for Rooney and Pereira on for Mata. But Louis doesn't have the balls do anything about it dire play.

0-0 apparently is good enough for our manager.

It's not as bad as Norwich or Stoke, but we don't look too threatening either. Can someone explain why we always seem to play well for the first 20 minutes then there's a sudden turn-off? It's almost like those guys are being told to go very hard for 20 minutes and if you don't score then drop off the intensity.

Its really frustrating isn't it. I still think teams come to OT expecting a nervy first 10-15 mins, but the slow intensity allows the opposition to settle down and get comfortable. It's so mind numbingly obvious this style of play is killing our attacking players. All the shit Rooney has got, where is the service to him? We have martial stuck on the left wing playing 2v1 all game. It's just not good enough.

The more I watch Mata the less sold on him I am.

For a long time he's been the type of player who will do something good once in 10 games. What few shots he has are normally sliced wide or rolled to the keeper with very rare volleys on target.

Hopefully he can get something today, he's due a goal or through pass but I'm not sure if can get the best out of him.

With so many players since the Moyes LVG era playing well before they come to OT and play well later once they've left, it's very hard to single out players now.

I'm sorry but I'm not having this bunch of players can be so inept in front of goal, they've all been goalscorers at their former clubs. This is pathetic.
Exactly - that's why it's not down to them. It's the coaching - it has to be. If nothing else, they should be told to go for it - and that they won't be penalised if they make a mistake or if they fail. They should be rewarded for bloody effort. It's obvious to anyone that they don't have faith in themselves and more importantly, they don't believe the manager has faith in them - that's the only reason that players who have previously proven that they are good, are now guilty of freezing on the pitch.

I've always admired van Gaal, even when shit hit the fan during his Bayern stint, but good grief... this is shockingly boring football. Maybe it really is time for him to go.

Yea he sells Nani, Di Maria, Hernandez, RVP, sends wilson and Janazaj on loan, Falcao is let go, he cannot get the best out of the only 2 replacements of all the players he sold in memphis and martial, and once again its another 0-0 half time scoreline, maybe he is still hung-up on our 0-0 draw over Chelsea. If its true he over does the training of the players before we have a game

Seriously? I guess you see what you want to...
We have created a few chances, probably more than we tend to average this season. Still not enough, though, and it's more the accumulation of shiteness that should see LVG sacked than one game anyway.

Last 9 home games at half time:
    0-0 MCFC
    0-0 Boro
    0-0 CSKA
    0-0 WBA
    0-0 PSV
    0-0 WHUFC
    0-1 NCFC
    0-0 Chelsea
    0-0 Swans

That is nothing short of amazing,

It's a good job we have such patient and understanding fans in the stadium as Andy mitten so righteously pointed out earlier in the week, not like us internet bound sub humans.
