Anyway, I agree that he played the ball, but I disagree that playing the ball and being dangerous are mutually exclusive. Two footed leg breakers are often playing the ball, but they're still dangerous. In this case, the ball was played in a way that was dangerous, with studs up into the knee, therefore it's a foul in my book.

I've thought that for months now.

But in either scenario, surely the players recognise that there is a major international competition this summer which they are all in danger of missing out on.

At this stage just go out and fecking play your game. If he drops you for ignoring his tactics then it's going to be very obvious to every fan and board member where the issue lies.
