We lost the possession, Van Gaal won't be happy.Only 43% possession. Must be one of the lowest of the season. Yet arguably our most potent display.

When we up the tempo we can play nice footie!
Herrera is better replacing Fellaini. He could have brought Mata off a bit earlier. He should have been brought on ahead of Herrera imo.
Feck you too UK
Of course, what else would we whine about for hours on end?!So, is there going to be a big deal about the number of empty seats before the final whistle?
I see Pereira as more of an #8 than a #10 though, so he could have replaced Fellaini.Herrera is better replacing Fellaini. He could have brought Mata off a bit earlier.
A lot better.Way to go Lvg!
Nice that we have Shaw and CBJ to cover that LB position. Great.CBJ is really good. Didn't expect it at all. I hope he plays for us for years to come.

match day thread , what do you expect, this was one of the better ones, should read one when we are playing badly.Anyone reading the beginning this thread will see how embarrassing some posters were. Yet somehow a comfortable 3-0 victory.
GGMU!
Totally, we are playing the exact opposite of what he spent up to now trying to instill in the team - We are playing a fast paced game, direct passing, quick forward counters, looking free to take chances - I'd honestly say that unless I hadn't seen LVG on the bench, it was a different coach in charge.
If he *has* changed things, fair play to him. If the players are pulling a 'we'll run ourselves' in true French rugby team fashion and are doing this themselves, flair play to them too!
Or maybe Giggs is just a Jonah! j/k
He has impressed for sure. Looks very promising.CBJ is really good. Didn't expect it at all. I hope he plays for us for years to come.
That helps. The change of tactics is noticeable though. Just going straight for the throat instead of the usual focus on ball retention.
I honestly believe our players are much better at direct fooball rather than possession based. It's defo our strong point, running at defenders from the wings and whipping in crosses. It remains to be seen whether we can go on a run though.
I really don't think it's tactics. We often try to start quickly but when players are giving it away or taking poor first touches it's impossible to gain momentum.
Tonight we had two technically gifted players, Carrick and Mata, down the centre of the team. That coupled with Martial being on form has made the difference.
If we had Schneiderlin as the deep lying playmaker and Herrera as the No.10 I don't see us having that start.
Well no actually. For most of his time here we haven't tried to move the ball forward quickly. There was an obvious shift in style of play.
Agreed - If LVG sees what we have tonight, and that the direct approach is much better for us, I can't believe he wouldn't continue in this vein.
I am, and was in the LVG out camp, but if he does change the tactics and abandon the philosophy for this 'united' cavalier approach, I'd have lot of respect for him. It would rank above his biggest achievements to have the humility to change at this stage of career, and triumph in the face of abject adversity (albeit of his own making).
I really do hope we go on a run, playing like this and finish higher than 4th, with a good run in the Cups.
I got a spare if you want.
