Goalkeepers (2): Sergio Romero, Lee Grant

Defenders (6): Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Marcos Rojo, Brandon Williams
Midfielders (5): Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira, Paul Pogba, Fred, James Garner
Forwards (5): Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Mason Greenwood, Daniel James, Tahith Chong

No Dalot so sounds like he's had some sort of setback. If fit I imagine Wan-Bissaka would have been rested. Front six could go any way - will be impressed at anyone who gets more than 9 out of 11 on the prediction.

With that squad and keeping in mind Arsenal on Monday, I'd probably go a 3-5-2 type thing just because we're going to be dominant in possession and everything so we can afford to sacrifice a bit in the defenders. This way still get to rotate enough while giving game time to some recovering from injury. Pogba to get subbed on for Fred maybe.

    Romero
    Tuanzebe Jones Rojo
    Lingard Fred Garner Pereira Chong
    Mata
    Greenwood

Why would you have 3 CB’s and Lingard and Chong as wing backs?

    Confirmed United squad members

Sergio Romero, Lee Grant, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, Marcos Rojo, Brandon Williams, Scott McTominay, Andreas Pereira, Paul Pogba, Fred, James Garner, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Mason Greenwood, Daniel James, Tahith Chong.

    Where the feck is Gomes?

Why would you have 3 CB’s and Lingard and Chong as wing backs?
Because its 3rd/4th league opposition at Old Trafford. Going to be Lingard and Chong as wide players like normal, we likely won't have much defending to do like in the Astana game.

So then just play 4 at the back and leave Lingard and Chong further up?

Added Mata and Lingard over Gomes

Something like this maybe? Mata to try and thread balls around to our youngsters who do all the running. Chong gets another chance after his shit game the other night. Midfield is a bit tricky to select, but Pogba needs match fitness and we need to avoid Fred and Pogba ever being on the pitch at the same time. McTom has had a lot of minutes so probably needs a rest. Therefore the only partner Pogba can play with is Pereira or Garner, time to give Garner a go and reward his form.

Defense I think is pretty straight forward as Rojo did ok the other night, we can bring on Williams later for Rojo.

    ------------Greenwood-----------
    ------James--Mata--Chong------
    ----------Fred---Garner----------
    --Rojo---Tuanzebe---Jones---AWB---
    ---------------Romero-----------------

Ole will probably start Lingard but out of principal I can't put him in a lineup.

edit: Switched out Pogba for Fred.

Going from Ole's quotes I think Pogba will be a sub - specifically in for Fred. Leaning towards McTominay in over Garner and the three behind Greenwood could be any of James, Mata, Chong (think Chong is nailed on to start), Lingard and Andreas. Tough thing is we need James for Arsenal - especially with our injuries - but I think it'll be a serious struggle for goals against Rochdale without him.

Back 5 should be fairly straight forward. Fully expect Fred, Greenwood and Lingard to start so that's 8. The other 3 spaces could be between
Pogba, Periera, Mata, James, Chong, McTom

Ah ok, assumed Pogba was ready to start, in that case swap him for Fred in my lineup. I'm shit at this though. :p

Ole must really be worrying we won't win this match if he's having to go nearly full strength. How ridiculous.

    Predicting this

    Greenwood

    Chong Mata Lingard

    Garner Fred

    Williams Rojo Tuanzabe AWB

    Romero

    Aren't you worried?

I see this as a boring game from our side. We will pass pass pass pass pass breakdown counter and concede.. pass pass pass lump ball in box, corner, corner 90 mins.

Ole comes out and talks about the 3 half chances that we missed in 95 mins.

    Romero
    Rojo - Tuanzebe - Jones - Williams
    Garner - Pereira - Fred
    Lingard - Greenwood - Chong

    Subs: Mata (60') - Pogba (75') - James (80' or 85')

Really don't want to see any more of the first team than Fred. Rochdale is sitting 17th in League 1. Be worried all you want, but I can guarantee you, the squad is hearing all about Spurs today.

We still have 5 days to recover before Arsenal so with our injuries, Ole could play one or two "first team players also"

    Romero

    Dalot
    Tuanzebe
    Jones
    Rojo

    Mc Tominay
    Fred

    Mata
    Lingard
    Gomes

    Greenwood

It's just the squad that MEN saw entering Lowry isn't it, so maybe we will see Dalot and Gomes.

Will be disappointing if Gomes and Dalot see no game time tonight. Hopefully Garner,Williams are given their chance to impress.

This is a home game.. Players can join later. Unless that squad has been confirmed by the club, I wouldnt take it as gospel
