    1) Shaw isn't totally fit, so Wan-Bissaka plays. He can probably survive playing a ton until Dalot is back.

    2) Season collapses without Casemiro, it doesn't without the FA Cup, so sadly another McTominay game.

    3) Pellistri on the right makes sense, he can provide crosses to Weghorst.

    4) Bruno for an hour, then a youngster

    So:

    Garnacho-----Weghorst--------Pellistri
    -----------------------Bruno------------------
    ------------Fred---------Mctominay-----
    Malacia--Lindelof-Maguire-WanBissaka
    ---------------------De Gea--------------------

We really need another quality midfielder. This is the kind of game that makes you hope we could so something like Tielemans on loan for 4 months and we pay his wages, in exchange for Leicester getting Elanga for 18 months on loan for example, since they need wing depth even if they sign a proper RW (it's just Barnes, that presumptive player like Tete or whoever they sign and then Albrighton or a CM playing out wide, so Elanga might do okay there as Barnes' backup).

    Butland
    Williams Lindelof Martinez Malacia
    Pellistri Mctominay Fred Garnacho
    Sancho Weghorst

I'd try and field an almost different outfield for Reading and Forest 2nd leg. Thanks to the result from the first leg against Forest, we can probably go stronger in the FA Cup now. Not sure if Shaw will be fit for this. I think he was out with illness, so I imagine he will be available. I'm hopeful Sancho can get some minutes against Reading and be ready for Reading

    Reading XI
    De Gea
    AWB Varane Maguire Shaw
    Casemiro Fred
    Pellistri Fernandez Rashford
    Weghorst

    Forest XI
    De Gea
    Williams Lindelof Martinez Malacia
    McTominay Eriksen
    Antony Sancho Garnacho
    Weghorst

Arent we allowed 5 subs.. go strong. sub kids in in the second half

Looking forward to this although I'm not a fan of cup-weekends

if our second string cant be trusted at home against reading, (some / all of them are full internationals / wonderkids) they need replacing asap.

Ouit of curiosity: Where is Zidane Iqbal? Saw him during the pre season a lot but can't remember seeing him since then?

if our second string cant be trusted at home against reading, (some / all of them are full internationals / wonderkids) they need replacing asap.

Well we already know that the second string is problematic so no they can't be trusted and they do need replacing

    de Gea

    Williams
    Maguire
    Martinez (Lindelof 70')
    Malacia

    Casemiro (McTominay 70')
    Mainoo
    Fred

    Sancho (Pellistri 60')
    Weghorst (Elanga 70')
    Garnacho

We'll need our second string match fit and our youngsters need games to develop. Doesn't make a lot of sense to play a strong team here, rest those who seem fatigued.

McFred and Mainoo in midfield with Garnacho, Pellistri and Werghost should be more than enough.

    Just no and why ?
Its the FA CUP second to the PL
Strongest team is needed, Ince ( cock) will have Reading fired up, we need to put them away early and then rest some players.
I'd say it's behind the Europa, given what winning that brings

Would hope for some rotation even though ETH isn’t a fan of it. We’re already at the beginning of a very hectic schedule compared to our rivals so try and rotate as much as possible for this and the Forest game on Wednesday night. Give Rashford the night off and hopefully Sancho gets a good amount of game time off the bench. Strong bench if needed.

    Heaton

    Wan-Bissaka - Lindelof - Martinez - Williams

    McTominay - Fred

    Antony - Mainoo - Garnacho

    Elanga

Butland, Maguire, Malacia, Casemiro, Eriksen, B.Fernandes, Pellistri, Sancho, Weghorst

    Manchester United 4-1 Reading

I'd say half of our strongest 11 should start this game, the other half start the second leg against Forest (with anyone who is struggling with a knock being rested entirely). Feels like that's a good rotation so players can get a bit of a rest, while also not taking it too easy and potentially being upset. Have absolutely no idea which players play which game though.

    For this:
    De Gea
    AWB - Lindelöf - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro - Fred
    Anthony - Fernandes - Garnacho
    Weghorst

    Then for Forest:
    Butland
    Dalot - Varane - Maguire - Malacia
    McTominay - Mainoo
    Pellistri - Eriksen - Elanga
    Rashford

Martial and Sancho to come in if ready, as Rashford and Eriksen should get as much rest as possible.

    Hoping for
    Butland
    Wan Bissaka Lindelof Maguire Malacia
    McTominay Fred
    Pellistri Sancho Garnacho
    Weghorst
And vs Forest I'd play the same tbh. Give the main guys 10 days off to the Palace game basically, because then we have Palace, Leeds, Leeds, Barcelona, Leicester, Barcelona, cup final between Feb 4 and Feb 26th, as the weekend and midweek games. Big month for us but important to be fresh for those last 3.

    3) Pellistri on the right makes sense, he can provide crosses to Weghorst.

    4) Bruno for an hour, then a youngster

    So:

    Garnacho-----Weghorst--------Pellistri
    -----------------------Bruno------------------
    ------------Fred---------Mctominay-----
    Malacia--Lindelof-Maguire-WanBissaka
    ---------------------De Gea--------------------

Casemiro can play this game and sit out the 2nd Forest game.

    Malacia
    Mctominay
    Fred

    Garnacho

Both Pellistri and Garnacho need a full game to judge their performances over 90mins.
Pellistri seems to drift inside during a game while Garnacho tends to stay on the wing.
I don't ever want to see Lindelof and Maguire play together again. Wan Bissaka was responsible for the dis-allowed Forest goal by being awol at right back.

I’ve paid for flights , accommodation and match tickets for the Leeds game so I’m gonna go with a draw tonight :(

Crush these minnows and move on. Got more important things to worry about. Hoping to see some Garnacho and Pellistri action.

That's the dross Mourinho left us with after two and a half years. It's also incredible that after spending 737.4 million pounds in 5 years, McTominay and Fred were the best midfield combo we could field on a football pitch. Thank God, we are finally moving on. ETH is the best thing that has happened to this club in the post-SAF era by quite a margin.
