    This is really poor so far. Darmian distribution is so painful to watch.
     
    This is pretty much what I expected 11 random players to look like early on.
     
    Sanchez and Lukaku not doing well enough irrespective of opponents.

    Ilori goes into an aerial challenge with Lukaku and lands heavily. He's getting treatment but if he can't continue then the legend that is John O'Shea may have to come on!
    All these misplaced passes aren't gonna get these lads in our first team on the regular

    I would like to see Ole get out of his seat and bollock the team for the tempo.
     
    Reading look really nicely set up. Well organised, aggressive in the tackle and closing down quickly.

    United will need to up their game here.
     
    Should have Sanchez playing more in the middle and Lukaku elsewhere. Same old same old with Ron.
     
    Fair play to Reading. They've played some decent football early on.
     
    Sure looks like five of our front six have been fecking dreadful or not been getting a sniff this season. Reading on top...
     
    Without Rashford and Lingard chasing the ball, we look incredibly slow up front. We rely on these two to create the tempo and get the ball to slower players like Sanchez, Mata and Lukaku.

    It's so frustrating as even if it does reach Lukaku, he wouldn't be able to do anything with it with his back to goal.
     
    Bit worried about the midfield here, understandably Fred/Perreira/McT look like they've never played as a 3 before.

    Still, no chances anywhere yet.

    Definitely. Irrespective of the goals he's scored lately, you can quite clearly see that he changes the dynamics for the worst.

    First shot in anger of the match as McTominay sets up Sanchez on the edge of the box for a shot which he sends just over the bar.

    Took 15 minutes for an effort on goal.

    Good try from Sanchez there. Put him up front for goodness sakes, he looks far better there.

    Reading have a chance of their own now as Yiadom finds himself in space on the corner of the box, but he fires his shot high over the bar.
    Midfield lacks bite. Herrera is not rapid, but he is quite nippy and Matic can make those forward passes. Then Darmian at the back is simply hoofing it. Add to that the forwards who lack pace.

    But it's ok, we need games like these to get our second string to understand what Ole wants. Can't be dependent only on our first choice XI, these players need game-time to improve.
