We needed one last summer when Bruno Fernandes was available for relatively cheap. I was hopeful we wouldn't be foolish enough to overlook it last summer, seeing as how reliant we have been on Pogba ever since he came here. At least they won't overlook it this summer i hope!

Ole may well be thinking of the confidence spanking this side will give his forwards and also allowing for the fact that no striker worth his salt wants to come off when there are goals for the taking. Would help if we had more attacking options on the bench as I don't really want to risk James, not sure why Chong didn't figure tonight.

Take tonight, when Fred & McTominay get the ball, you can see they want to be positive with their passing, always looking forward, but there's literally nothing ahead of them. Mata is awol struggling to keep up with the pace of the match, providing zero support. Other matches it's either Lingard or Pereira either not intelligent enough/not enough quality/both.

Only option i can see is, we need to change this god-awful system which clearly isn't working until Pogba gets back.

I like 352. Ours was custom-built for Liverpool but I think it gets the best out of our forwards while giving our fullbacks a proper chance to pressurise their opposite numbers further up the pitch. I'd like to see Martial-Rashford up front with James as right wingback and AWB slotting in at RCD.

I think Mata's been ok on the ball but yes he hasn't got the legs, certainly not against decent opposition.
