Interesting half. Newcastle sitting deep and trying to lump it to St. Maximum. Really difficult to play against when the whole team are so deep. I thought we looked ok, if Sancho was a bit more confident he might have scored a couple but the signs of his ability are there. Our defence looks more composed with Varane too.

Still feels unbelievable to scream that after a United goal. Great work by Mason, was thinking we weren't using him as much in attack, so he just went for it by himself and Ronaldo got the reward.

We've been decent against a 10 man wall in front of Newcastle's goal. Defense has held up well, the scariest moments were due to our own misplaced passes. Sancho has looked better. Matic can be a bit more incisive in attack but he's done the defensive side well. Bruno needs to be sharper and AWB needs to put a few more crosses in, even if the first few were bad.

Now that we're leading, Newcastle's gameplan will be out of the window and we should be able to score a few more. Just have to make sure we don't concede a daft goal from a bad pass or set piece.

I was so annoyed that we only got 2 min of injury time after the time they’ve wasted. Guess it was all we needed!

I hope this causes them to come out now.Gives us more chances to pull them apart… knowing us we’ll probably let one in at the start of the half!

They’re quite capable if we leave it too free at the back. AStM is very dangerous

He is not that type of player, what we are seeing today is what he is, retains possession, looks for quick combination play, runs with it when it is on. He is not going to get you out of your seat constantly but he is an intelligent, talented player, who just lubricates the game.

Difficult to know how to assess that so far. We played high tempo and tried quite a few things but didn't really look like breaking them down til the goal came. Even then we got a bit of luck with deflection that seemed to make the goalie spill it. However I think it was more about simply the sheer number of bodies at the back - they were practically playing a back 7 at times.

I do feel that we might be able to get more as they get tired. You can't play like that for 90 mins, especially when you're already behind. So I'm happy, even if that wasn't an awesome performance overall.
