That’s a really good point and it will be interesting if Ole changes this. As one of the earlier poster’s suggested, as much as Mata is slow and ineffective at times, might be worth throwing him in for McT who looked tired last time out. He has played a lot. Mata will give us the added creative element albeit sparse.I knew we would drop points against Watford, but for this match I think we'll win purely because of Pogba being back.
I think we should play 4-3-3 personally but if Ole sticks with the 4-3-2-1, then Mata should play at 10.

MartialNot an easy game. Newcastle have a bit of form, they work hard, are very humble (they seem to know their limitations...) and will happily frustrate the hell out of us, whilst knowing they will get a few chances. However, the class of Rashford, and Pogba (if he plays..) should be enough.
We drop points here, then it's not really looking great at all for second half of season...
We should imo, we should give freedom to Pogba to make the runs without worrying about defensive side.

I would think it would be a waste. If the game goes to plan then having 2 pure midfielders would be illogical. Maguire usually fills that space. We need some magic offensively breaking down stubborn defences.

I would tell Pogba not to worry too much about defensive work anyway as a) there won't be that much to do and b) even when there is defensive stuff to do we don't deal with it that well anyway...4-14-1

starting just 1 CB is abit nuts.Newcastle will defend deep in numbers and united will struggle to break them down. Newcastle will score some freak goal from a corner or something and United will chase an equaliser.I was contemplating dropping DDG from my prediction 11 line up but Ole will obviously start him.
