Rooney is on fire.Good win, but I'm still annoyed we dropped points to a toothless Villa.Forwards all played well, defence had nothing to do really but Jones was stupid giving away that penalty and Fletcher looked pretty rubbish again.Rather boring second half. We basically just played out the game, though shame about the lack of concentration/laziness on Jones part that gave them a goal. DDG has deserved more clean sheets this season than his defence are giving him.
We really do need to stop playing Fletcher. It wasn't even like he was the only CM on the bench this time either. Good to see Rafael back from injury.
I'm really liking Rooney playing as the more attacking player in CM. Those runs into the box from deeper have been working for us and add another type of threat that we have been lacking a lot of the time.I think Wilson's great. But like most young players, he needs minutes.. and with 3 world class strikers ahead of him, this is the best he can hope for.. A 6 month loan would be great.Watching the replay of the penalty makes me sick, there really wasn't any danger. The ball was cleared easily.Atleast we win, that's all matters.

Man of the match is obviously Rooney who scored 2 and assisted the other with a brilliant lob to RVP. Great finish too.
We have top class strikers who only need a look on goal to score. The question is whether we can continue the service to them for the next two matches as they will be much tougher tests. Both away from home against sides who are in form.

I hope you understand that part of the process of becoming a solid defender is to AVOID those brainfart moments from the first minute to the last, meaningless or not. Until this very day, I still see Jones a liability on that front.
On a different front, I'm disappointed that Pereira didn't get playing minutes today.
It was at least somewhat understanding today seeing as we play Spurs in a couple of days. The players clearly had an eye on that and we got a bit careless.
What?!Januzaj should be given the nod before Wilson. Wilson every time looks like just the player that being thrown in to run around. He basically haven't done anything worth noted yet. Fletcher is really pains me whenever he came in. I really want him to at least has a role in the squad but....
Gutted that we couldn't even keep a clean sheet for DDG. Every times when we in the lead atleast two or three goals, it looks like the players just doesn't wanna play anymore. If the could keep the ball then it's fine. However, they will alway lose the ball or get into some sort of panic and lead to a goal being conceded. This needs to be addressed, atleast, try to score more not just pass around for the sake of passing.
Rooney and mata played great today, jones was the same bar the pen when him or Rafael had some kind of brain fart moment.- Status
