Yes Mourinho should have kept our boys at home. Another good point he brings up in that article is the fairness of the Xmas schedule. Last year it was chelsea, this year it's Arsenal getting a huge boost form the scheduling. Weren't they supposed to be playing on Xmas eve?
Anyways regarding this game, I assume we'll be back to 4-2-3-1. The big question for me is who plays behind Lukaku. I think it's time Mourinho gave Mata a chance in that position for a full 90. Mkhitaryan has been in shocking form the last 4 or 5 games, time to give someone else a go.
As Mourinho says players from other clubs develop mysterious injuries when international friendlies come around and stay with their clubs and rest. Jones was actuallycarrying an injury but Southgate still played him. Would Southgate or the FA have brought charges had Jones stayed home? I seriously doubt it.Its not Southgate''s fault that Jones cant stay fit.
You have to release players if called up.

8 matches played , second highest rated United player so far this season, 2 Man of the Matches , yeah he is not good enough
Until he got injured he was doing more than an average job filling in for Pogba, since the EL Final he has more way more than average. We'll agree to disagree. Fellaini is an average player who shouldn't be playing and we'll never win the league with him as part of our midfield in my view.
Pogba and Ibrahimovic might make the bench, according to Neil Custis.

Key is to score early, at least in the first half. Newcastle will park the bus.

So it's setting up to be a bore draw then?Indeed. Newcastle have the 5th best defensive record in the league thus far (have conceded the same number of goals as Chelsea).
Benitez may be a bit of a clown, but he knows how to set up a side defensively.

When Fellaini is one of your better players, that tells you all you need to know about the quality of your squad..!!
No more internationals until April I think. By then we'll all be ready for it to end or buzzing.Cannot wait, seems like ages ago last time we played.
You like that?Yesss late Saturday kick off.
Sounds like my kind of dream.I dreamed last night that we were losing 0-2 and equalised in the dying minutes. Jose walked up to De Gea who was doing cart wheels and just smiled creepy. The camera zoomed in his face and then the commentator said United got all the three points despite drawing. Also I was watching the game on United Hour soundcloud page.
Who was that against?A favourable home game, our first since the last game before the previous international break
Thanks!@Red Katie
Palace which seems like a lifetime ago
Press conference today?
Thanks.1.30 PM
Yeah, 19:30 kick off here, it's late enough to have all the time to go to the sauna in the afternoon and knock down a few cold ones and take it easy. Also there's time to cook a dinner before the game. You like that?
Hehe. I don't mind it either but what I don't like is 5pm sunday kick-off's.Yeah, 19:30 kick off here, it's late enough to have all the time to go to the sauna in the afternoon and knock down a few cold ones and take it easy. Also there's time to cook a dinner before the game.
Don't think Pogba is ready to start, based on his short amount of time in full training, but hoping he'll make an appearance in the last 20.Is Pogba fit for this one? It would a big boost if he is but we should win this comfortably even without him. Must win really. We will probably be 11 points behind City by kick off and I'd even go as far as saying our title hopes are over if we don't win.
Pogba doesn't need to play and aggravate his injury. He can rest and so can Jones, Rojo and Zlatan. We just need to play a decent passing game and get the job done. A 1-0 or 2-0 victory is good enough and we can save the good players for the future games.
