We have the players to be able to at least get a draw out of this.
The question is whether we will play with the intensity and teamwork and passion.
But for me the most important thing is not to concede first.

Thats why I hope ETH grows a pair and puts Hannibal in the starting lineup.

I really hope we actually look trained and practiced for this, I actually would love to see a game plan in place, even if it’s a defensive one, don’t care. I’m sick of us looking disorganized and flat.

Don't we hope for all that before every game?

At least this time they don't have fecking Gundogan. I wonder who will step up in his place.

    Swap Antony for Hojlund surely?

I’d go for that but Hojlund and Martial up top - our two ‘best’ finishers.

Team vs City last season at Old Trafford:

    Martial
    Rashford Eriksen Bruno
    Fred Casemiro
    Malacia Shaw Varane Wan-Bissaka
    De Gea

We have more intensity on paper this year, especially in the final third.

    Hojlund
    Rashford Mount Bruno
    McTominay Casemiro
    Reguilon Maguire Varane Dalot
    Onana
Potentially Eriksen for Mount or McTominay for that added bit of quality, but that's probably the team I'd go with. We have players like Garnacho, Antony and Hannibal to come on and continue that intensity if/when needed.

Regardless of whoever in charge any professional team would always have a plan and practice for it before a match.

With ETH imo his plan is often simply too complicated and our players can't execute it properly. Hopefully yet.

So for this match all I hope is he could keep thing simple like sit deep and counter really fast. Really hope he can see the fecking obvious result of his football atm against a team like City.

Better to have Hoylund. He is rapid and perfect for a ball over the top.

Plus you need a Hannibal in the middle to provide the energy to win the ball back for a counter. Amrabat and Casemiro will be too passive.

casamiro probably wont be ready. Erikson along side amrabat. Bruno at 10. Rashford and Mount wide. Hojlund 9.
Garnacho on as super-sub… cant fail.

It'll be 3 or 4-1 to City. The most depressing thing is that they won't even have to get out of first gear and treat it like a training game.

To start Maguire here would be a grave mistake, let's be honest we've been playing cannon fodder as of late.

Could get even uglier. They are not as good as last season but we are complete shambles. If only we made progress over the summer.

We must get off to a good start today - even if that means we park the bus for the first half and go into HT level at 0-0.

Early City goals is going to mean a record PL win today...just got that horrible feeling.

Honestly I don’t buy this narrative. It makes out that Ten Hag is too advanced and/or our players are just incredibly stupid. Doesn’t make sense to me.

We've won few games recently but were far from convincing so think this is is where our mini winning row ends. 3-1 City (hopefully nothing worse as we tend to have our embarassing defeats usually in the month of October). Loss that'll make finishing top 4 difficult even though it's not even November.

OK, way too much negativity on this thread. I know they are big favourites but we do have a chance. We won the last league meeting between us! A chance for the likes of Amrabat, Onana and Hojlund to announce themselves. Come on United!!

We will let in 2 goals in the first 25 minutes. But we will have a spirited comeback and score 2 goals in the 2nd half. A moral victory.

That's all that's left to you if you refuse to recognise that Ten Hag is an average coach.

The first 5 mins will show if we are up to it, teams usually love going at United full throttle from the go to catch United sleeping which works 80% of the time or so and I expect City to do just that, the hope is our players hold it together and not be weak cnuts.

And for the love of god I hope Bruno and Rashford keep it simple and ticking, no Hollywood passes or running into blind alleys, I would love a game where those 2 don't try to force it and I know it's necessary but not from the get go please

I have no expectations from this fixture to be honest. It will probably end up being a tame loss for us. We have been horrendous even against cannon fodder so City will probably just walk over us.

The Manchester Derby rarely fails to deliver as a spectacle regardless of the winner. I prefer this more than the NorthWest Derby. Just hope we can do the business today.

It's more like this kind of football is too complicated and demanding imo. Just look at how many CBs and FBs Pep had to buy to implement his football and the time it took and you'd see I think.

The other alternative is that he is a good coach regarding tactics but the players are not listening. However that could mean his man-management skills aren't great, so I guess it would be back to square one, if the players are not all a*****.

It'll end up being ugly, I don't have any confidence. We've not played well in months, defensively frail with little attacking quality. It'll be bad.

Prediction: we will start slowly, not look threatening then be surprised when we concede. Some time in one half we might threaten to actually look as if we are indeed a football team and then concede some more.... I fear the game could be over long before we have a shot on target

We will be destroyed in CM with Amrabat.

City can win this by a cricket score if they want. But I suspect they will just score 3 or 4 and see out the game.
