They have De Bruyne; we have Lingard. They have Silva; we have andreas. Andreas and Lingard are simply no where near good enough.

Rashfords head is down as well and he is captain for the night.

The whole club is just toxic. Rotten. The City players are proactive while our players are reactive.

Lingard just has to be sold or let go. He signifies everything that has gone wrong with the club since Ferguson left. If Lingard starts against Norwich i am not wasting ten euro in the pub to watch him. Fed up of this charlatan.

Make no mistake of it. This is not our second xi. Pereira/Lingard are starters. Daniel James ( as much as i like him) is a starter. Fred has started for us for the majority of the season.

I haven’t seen a manager at the top look as inept tactically as OGS. Plan A is to play on the counter attack and if that fails then there is no alternative. Only logic for fans thinking he is the answer long term is letting their heart rule the head. There is little or no evidence to suggest that he is. Winning the odd big means f**k all. Even Moyes and LVG managed to string a few wins together but OGS can’t win more than three.

I am going to look on the bright side and assume that after this mauling Woodward will realize he has no choice other than to go and buy a couple of players in this window. A papering over the cracks 1-1 draw or the like might have helped sell the narrative that we can wait til the summer but there is no way he can credibly sell that any more.

Suppose most of my grievances have been with Woodward and the consistently bad transfers we've had since Moyes.

Fred is the only one playing tonight. Jones has been the worst as ever, De Gea shocking, Lindelof absolutely embarrassing, Pereira seems scared to play, Rashford looks injured, James has not been in the game, Lingard makes us even worse than it is possible.

There is no cohesion and nothing that tells me we are an actual football team. I want Ole to succeed, but he does not have any credit in the bank to excuse performances or results like this. Our only hope this season seems to be the EL and I'm very sceptical that we have much of a chance there at all.

A large chunk of it is down to these kinds of issues. Although the way Fernandinho has been three steps ahead of the attacking patterns has been deeply dispiriting too.
