Greenwood is in better form than Rashford
Form doesn't make him a better player. Greenwood still does far less in the overall game, though he's of course a goalscorer and useful off the bench. But he's not as good as Rashford or as effective overall.

What I’ve seen lately of Rashford is losing possession and running into holes and his mandatory shot from 35 yards . I’d bench him for the final.

Thank God you're not the manager.

Team pretty much picked itself. Liverpool under immense pressure here. Just sit back and counter, destroy them in the 2nd half then get the popcorn for the Rawk post match meltdown.

Just hope we don't get Fred or McT booked early on.

You know Thiago will be allowed 5 bad fouls before he even gets warned and then one of ours will get booked for their first tackle

Rashford can count himself incredibly lucky to start this game tonight on a few counts:
    • he’s underwhelming every single time playing off the right
    • he’s been in pretty poor form in general for a while
    • Greenwood is clearly the best option we have at RW at present
Here’s hoping Rashford bucks the trend tonight but I’m not convinced. He needs a big performance, hopefully he’s got one in the locker.

They will still get minutes in the last 2 games otherwise they'll be rusty comes the final.

Agree, but it still won't be the first team. I don't want to see another Maguire type of an injury. They will get some minutes all right
And, yes, I agree Mason should be on the RW in the final

Weird that i'm disappointed to see Rashford in the lineup, but Greenwood deserved to start.

4 year contract or not, Bailly scares me

I hope nobody cross the line this time. Throwing smoke bomb at Police like that could make it ugly.

Good scenes. Hopefully everyone keeps their cool today. We all get what we want. Effective, visible protest and the team we all love gets to play.

 Greenwood started and played the full match 48 hours ago. He was never going to start this one.

Greenwood will be a better player than Rashford in the long run so how do we know that hasn’t started now?

Rashford has been a big game player since his debut for United, and his form is inconsistent but not all that bad lately. When has Greenwood really stepped it up in a big game? He's young, so he'll be fine, but there's a big difference.

Greenwood played just over an hour v Leicester.

I agree with you, mind, but still feel a 70% Greenwood on the right is better than a disillusioned and out-of-form Rashford there but I guess time will tell.

EDIT: @bosnian_red see above for my reply to your post, too. I love Rashford but feel he’s flogged lately and hasn’t much in the tank. Playing him out of position even worsens his contribution so I feel Solskjaer is taking a big risk with this selection. Just my gut feeling, of course. Very happy to be wrong!

Hang on we're expecting Bailly to play two games in three days? Bailly! :nervous:
Yeah, that's something I've been worried about since the Maguire injury.

It was obvious Tuanzebe and Bailly would start v Leicester and that one of them would have to partner Lindelof v Liverpool.

I'd have preferred Tuanzebe, so as not to risk losing Bailly as well as potentially Maguire for the EL Final. But I expected us to go with our strongest available XI, which would be Bailly. It's a huge ask for his body, and a big risk we've been forced to take.

It's the team I'm sure we all expected after the other night. Maguire will be a big miss for us of course, but I'd love a win over this lot tonight. End their Top 4 hopes once and for all.

Fair enough he's not playing his best at the moment but why do people have to indulge in this type of fantasy?

Unless your mates and he's had a word.

my bad, forgot that he was subbed. We'll probably see Mason come on for Marcus after an hour or so.
