I'm still not sure what VDB does.

    Anyone?

The pass to send Rashford through for the goal and the through ball to Shaw for that last cross.
mine touch passing is very good. He’s just not in the game enough as we play so quickly on the attack we completely bypass him. Unfortunately a class of styles.

BBC have been joking about the term 'reducer' for about 5 years now. Can't go a match without someone cracking a joke about it
i believe gordon ramsay likes a white wine reducer...

McTominay-Pogba is a horrible pairing. Barely an ounce of positional nous between them. Pogba, at least, can actually play football.

On a positive note, this is the Rashford has played in months. We’re a better team than this lot.
Mostly because he’s on the left with Shaw. Why we need Sancho, I feel. Grealish would want that spot and Rashford would be shoved back to the right.

Thiago has fouled 7 times in one half and not been booked.

Fabinho should have been sent off.

Liverpool fans claim we have paid off the refs.
7 really? Mind the time against Chelsea herrera got a 2nd yellow for consecutive team fouls.

    Total joke, no consistency

Shaw did well offensively but that goal was purely ball watching. Overall we did well, I think we can win this.

People criticised Maguire's heading ability offensively. Let's be real McTominay & Pogba are suspect for this as well given they have very good height. McTominay only scored two heading goals for us which both came from this season in EFL & FA Cup, majority his goals were long shots, he's also one of the player who wasted lot of heading chances.

The challenge from Fabinho was similar to Shaw vs Burnley except he didn't get the ball at all. if there is debate about Shaw should have got red, this one should have a debate too and this one is worse. Although I think both Shaw & Fabinho were yellow challenge.

Good half, we've been the better team, should be ahead. Poor from McT, Lindelof and Shaw for their goal and absolutely fantastic from Pogba, Rashford and Mason for ours. VdB hasn't had many touches, but the ones he has had have been precise one touch passes right where the players want them. Maybe he can press more, but not everyone has the energy levels of Fred.

Shaw and Rashford have completely dominated their right side and if we cut out our sloppy passes at the back, we should beat them, even without Bruno. Optimistic for the second half knowing that if they bring on their best attacker, we can bring on ours too.

Most of us want Ole to take risks, show courage, play kids like Pellistri and Diallo, etc. but when a teenager currently low on confidence and having a difficult season tries to shoot instead of passing in the first few minutes of a game he is getting abuse.
He is so young and his decision making will improve but if a striker can’t try to risk a shot when his starts are limited anyway, then when / how else is he going to score?

Fred on for Mctominay please, he’s off the pace today. Then Fernandes on for VDB before 60 minutes

Just watching the half-time highlights on the BBC and it's remarkable how often our counter attacks start with Pogba winning the ball. He has been brilliant.

It is incredible to me just how well we’re playing this Liverpool team. Apart from one error from Mctominay to not press Firmino, we’ve been amazing.

Their backline is terrified of our pace on the break. They just back off and back off with no intention of committing themselves.

They're clearly a side lacking confidence. We have to go for it in the second half.

VDB is playing it too safe. Needs to do more. This Liverpool team are there for the taking.
The guy came this season, was barely played and then against Liverpool he has to be top of his game and confidence, isn't a 10 but a 8 imo...seems legit to me. A bit of an overreaction at least.

Should’ve punished them with a few more goals. Feel we got close with the corners and Pogba’s long range efforts.

Shaw has been fantastic and Cavani’s work rate and movements is great. As much as I love his spirit, McT doesn’t have the ability to be a starter for us. And I feel like on some occasions AWB is caught out of position on the right side.

    Agreed.

Madness. McT only gave it away once that I saw and had a great half. Maguire and Pogba were more guilty of giving it away.
Disagree, I think 90% of our issues in that half was McTominay not being press resistant. He wasn’t shocking but was our worst player. Pogba has been sensational
