What are the odds on anyone staying fit for the 90 minutes?
That's what worries me. I'm as sure as I can be that we'll finish above them in the league but I really don't know what will happen in this match.
Hopefully the players can see this as the big game that it is and they will raise their performance as they have before this season. Our performances might not be great but our results have been good and I'm waiting for us to put together a few games where we play the opposition off the pitch and put together good results. I think we might have to wait a while yet for that though. I imagine we'll win but it'll be nerve wracking for the whole game. Hope I'm wrong though (about the nerve wracking bit not the winning bit
).Always a tough, charged match. Liverpool will give their all but they are already looking tired and I think we have every chance of taking all 3 points from this one.

Basically I'd play Gerrard as a "false nine" until we get Sturridge or Balotelli fit.I feckin hope Di Maria is back to start. He will give the team a huge lift. And he will add that fear-factor to Liverpool's backline. He is just too fast to deal with.

Has to be this line-up. Hoping rafa and di maria are back from injury this match. I dont know if Felliani should start this game, guy was horrid against Southampton. Players were getting passed the big man to easy, werent tracking any runs, struggled to read the game most of the time, giving away sloppy passes etc. Sterling or Countinho would have a field day if was put in deep midfield. So i'd put Herrera in there, he's more mobile, can track his runs, great energy and can link-up well with Mata & Di Maria well when getting forward. Then up front Rooney and RVP, LVG saying Falcao is still not fit, so i highly doubt he'll even start against liverpool then which is shame. The Falcao needs to be released!!! Also RVP would want to keep his form going with two goals performance against Southampton, and Rooney is undroppable. The rest is obvious choices.This is the most ideal moment to face Liverpool. We will win this comfortably. Just don't play 352. An in-form RVP can be deadly. Come on LVG, pls link him up with Falcao!As long as we don't give them a free kicks just outside of our box we'll be fine.This is one of the few times i think 3 at the back could work. They don't have the pace to get behind the wing backs and we could swamp their weak midfield while having as many attacking threats up against their centre backs as we can fit.

It might not. It gets more pace and creativity on the pitch though and playing with a striker hasn't worked either. Gerrard has better movement and is a better finisher than Lambert too. Probably better in the air as well.Any news on Angel being potentially available for this?

They have been good for the fact that they are no real Backs, but i'd still take Rafael and Shaw any day over then.
Exceptional? Defensively they've been bang on average at best and as for going forward they have offered little or nothing except miss placed crosses or momentum killing back passes as soon as they're pressured in anyway.
This new praise for Ashley Young is rather confusing, against Southampton during the week he spent most his time back passing and when he actually got forward he fired in two ''good crosses'', yet they managed to miss their targets.
I hope they'll play Mignolet as False no. 1

This. They haven't been particularly tested defensively (in a 4 at the back system - the whole point in 352 when we haven't got full backs fit is to protect their defensive frailties IMO) and they still don't offer anything going forward. Against weak teams with the diamond they're perfectly fine, but against stronger teams they'll get really exposed in a formation without wingers to protect them. The way the full backs get exposed with the diamond was shown against Leicester for instance.
They've done well, but I wouldn't say exceptional.We will win this, probably with a 1 goal margin. I'll take that any day of the week against the scousers. If we do, they will be 10 points under us and i will laugh loudly
Much better than expected, yes, but they have not been exceptional.
Young was caught out of position at least twice against Soton leaving a Soton player in acres of space while Young was 30 yards upfield. Luckily they could take advantage. It is unfair to blame this solely on Young since our team was all over the place. But still.
Maybe it is better to play Rojo at LB against Liverpool even if that means that Carrick must play CB?
