Let's hope we smash them. I don't think they have the attack to really bother our defence despite our defence being certifiably shite. It really is a case of how well we play because we do have the players to pass them off the park. That said, we have been rather inconsistent in our displays.

You just know we'll have a few injuries over the week but I hope we play a back 4.

    4-3-1-2:
    DDG
    Valencia-Evans-Rojo-Young
    Carrick
    Fellaini-Mata
    Herrera
    RVP-Rooney

Our back 4 seems a bit weak but I don't think the scousers have enough to really trouble us. So going for a 2-1 win with us scoring 1 in each half before Gerrard scores off a penalty that Evans concedes after doing something stupid. We then spend the last 10 minutes trying our best to screw up and kill as many United supporting heart patients as possible, only for Liverpool to be too shite to take advantage.

The following morning, RAWK mods are banning angry posters left, right and centre till the thread is filled with people claiming how a loss to us was indeed a sign of progress and how they now have the players and mentality to take on the whole of Europe.....erm, Europa League after getting knocked out by Basel in mid-week. Brendon Rodgers comes out with a quote about how well Van Gaal is doing for a newbie, claiming that "You have to break a few eggs to make an omelette. We needed this loss to assess our strengths as a group so we can finally move forward."

    De Gea
    Valencia--Evans--Rojo--Young
    Carrick--Herrera
    Januzaj--Rooney--Di Maria
    van Persie
If Di Maria isn't fit then...

    De Gea
    Valencia--Evans--Rojo--Young
    Fellaini--Carrick--Herrera
    Mata
    van Persie--Rooney

The defence is obviously a big worry but I wouldn't want the 3-5-2 for this game.

Too bad that Smalling got injured again, I was hoping he would stay fit and make that CB spot his for a long time, but no..Let's see how many matches Evans can play before he also get injured. This will definetly be a tough match, and we need to step up from the Soton game, that's for sure. Think it's a bit early to predict a lineup already, but hopefully Rafael and Di Maria is fit for this one! In midfield Carrick and Herrera is both must starters, not so sure about Mata and Fellaini. Both of them played bad yesterday. Rooney and RvP will most certain start on top. Could Januzaj get a chance maybe?

Confidence is our most important player at the moment. Now I think the players enter any game believing they can win compared to last season and the start of this season.

Just forget about the 3-5-2 sh!t. play 4 in the back hope Evans and McNair will be excluded ( Rafael- Carrick-Rojo-Young). I don't know if Jones or Smalling will be ready for this game.

Would love to have this available

    But will settle for this

Falcao will not play I don't think. How many game time have he clocked since his recent injury? It will be a huge risk.

    4-2-3-1

    -------------De Gea
    Valencia--Evans--Rojo--Young
    --------Carrick--Fellaini
    --Januzaj--Rooney--Di Maria
    ----------Van Persie

If Di Maria doesn't recover, then Herrera comes in and plays a deeper role.

Could change the back four to this:

    Valencia--Evans--McNair--Rojo

As I'm not sure if Young is a good option at LB against such talented opposition.

Herrera 100% has to start over Fellaini. Aside from tonight the mop has been decent but Herrera is just a different class. Especially at home where we're going to be dominating possession, we just can't afford to have our attacks going through the stiff tinman.

I was wondering this is this the one to drop Fellaini and play Herrera next to Carrick! Would like to see it and after a fairly poor game yesterday and potentially too many games in a row he may be given a 'rest' and see if the others can step up. Dont think we necessarily need his height vs liverpool. So it is definitely an option.

Although Carrick may be used CB if LVG doesnt fancy Evans following last night. But for me cant be a 3-5-2 after our performances with it.

It's annoying to think that injuries withstanding we could start with Shaw, Rafael & Di Maria, but we could also start with none of them.

They are 3 key player's for us (along with Blind & Smalling who're already out).

    -----------------DDG-----------------
    Rafael------Evans-----Rojo------Young
    -----------------Carrick---------------
    -----------Herrera-----Di Maria--------
    -----------------Rooney---------------
    -----------Falcao------Van Persie------

Subs: Lindegaard, Blackett, Valencia, Fletcher, Fellaini, Mata, Wilson.

    Hoping for

    -----------------DDG-----------------
    Rafael------Evans-----Rojo------Young / Shaw
    -----------------Carrick---------------
    ---------Valencia-----Herrera--------
    -----------------Di Maria---------------
    -----------Rooney------Van Persie------

Essentially a 442 but flexible with Rooney dropping deep, Di Maria pushing to left and Valencia to the right.

    Any news on Rafael/Shaw?

    -------------De Gea--------
    -Rafael-Evans-Rojo-Young-
    -----------Carrick----------
    ------Herrera--Fellaini----
    -----------Rooney----------
    -------RvP----Di Maria----

Doesn't VGs hardline policy mean that Di Maria and Rafael wouid need to prove their match fitness in an U21s game to be deemed ready for Lverpool ?

I think that is only if the player dosnt have match fitness which would apply to Rafael but not Di Maria as he only played last week at Hull.
Rojo for example came straight back after 3 weeks out without playing for the reserves.

    Hopefully:

    De Gea

    Rafael Smalling Rojo Young

    Carrick

    Herrera Di Maria

    Mata

    Rooney Van Persie

Falcao and/or Januzaj on the second half if we need them. Valencia for Rafael if the Brazilian is unavailable. Evans for Smalling if the Englishman is available. Fellaini for Di Maria if the Argentinian is unavailable.

I think this one depends heavily on who we have back. Not going to kid myself into thinking we'll be as lucky as we were against Southampton, Baloteli will punish us if we defend so poorly even if he's not been on form this season - he'll be their RvP.

However, with some more defenders and midfielders to chose from we should beat these.

He's displayed nothing to suggest he'd be anything near that. I'd be more concerned about Borini than I would do him and they're both shite.

Really after 1 average performance? Fellaini was garbage first half but wasn't to bad second half made many crucial interceptions.
This Fellaini is an absolute yard dog !!!, how any united fan can say he is good enough to wear that shirt is beyond me, he's a big lump that you can knock the ball up too in times of panic and he may cause defenses a bit of a problem, other that that forget it, he an absolute joke!!

He thinks it's his choice to pick which one to win. Typical delusional Pool player

i am well and truly in this camp. 5 on the spin, home to liverpool the Stretty will be bouncing regardless, throw Falcao and Di Maria into the mix and it'll be mental. So what Falcao isnt match sharp, he'l give the team and the fans a huge lift and adrenalin will get him through. If we have to change him for mata/wilson/fellaini or whoever its no big deal is it.

Im hoping he starts, the players will get energy and confidence from the reaction of the crowd towards that team, which will encourage a fast attacking atart and then hopefully when Falcao is knackered, he's walking off to a standing ovation with United 2-0 up and him having netted!

If carlesburg did sunday afternoons and all of that.

Seriousley though, what would we loose in starting him?

It would definatley be they type of thing Fergie would do

If Rafa and Di Maria are back then we'll dick 'em. I think we'll win either way but I can see it all coming together on Sunday.

I'm still so pissed off at that Smalling injury. Just before we play these cnuts too.

    Hopefully:

    De Gea

    This all day long!

(Or friggin Ando for Fellaini if "Southampton-Fellaini" decides to show up again...)

The RAWK meltdown will be hilarious if they fail to qualify tonight. I've prepared with popcorn and beer. Additionally, if we beat them convincingly come sunday that fraud Brentan will be under huge pressure.
