Love how Liverpool fans are making out we're massive favourites just because they have a couple players injured.
We are, let's not kid ourselves, team we've put out today really should be cruising past that back four. As we know games like this are never that easy, Lallana and Firminio will have a field day against Darmian.

I thought someone said earlier that we weren't supposed to post about other games, in case some people wanted to watch MOTD

My bad, I think that is actually a rule (although not sure it applies to games that aren't on at the same time as ours).

Either way, post deleted. If you could remove my quote from your post as well that would be great.

No excuses today. Our first team vs a team potted through with replacements. Sure Liverpool will test our back four plenty, but on balance we should be giving them more trouble than they give to us. Unless something unforeseeable happens, like a bad decision from the ref, falling to win would be poor.

This won't be as easy as some might think. Whose injured and who's not is usually not important for such games. Let's just get the three points

Holy feck i thought you were joking. I just checked the scores. I wasnt planning on watching motd but now I will.

Anyone else watching Sky Sports think that Carragher sounds like he's been throwing up after seeing the line-ups?

Wow, City really got thrashed badly.

And some people are suggesting that the thought of us thrashing Liverpool is ludicrous and delusional?

Would rather have seen Blind in at LB, had Martial in my predicted starting XI, took him out at the last minute and put Mata in.
Anyway, COYR - would love a Rooney winner off the bench late on, but any win will do.

    They're nervous - we're nervous.

This isn't meant to be a RAWK style story about a "Liverpool supporting mate" - but a 'Pool fan I work with said yesterday he's not feeling good about playing us today, and let's be fair, there are a few nerves in here.

Honestly can't call this one, in-form Mourinho vs Klopp with a lot to prove.

Going to be a cracking match I bet.

United have to able to keep their shape at the back without the ball. Lallana, Firmino, Origi, and Wjnaldium have the flair, pace and energy.

Darmain makes me nervous. Maybe Mata should have started but apart from that good team.

Lot's of reverse psychology going on from the Liverpool fans here. Line ups mean nothing. When they beat us 4-1 under Benitez most expected us to win comfortably.

Great team, and apart from Darmian I don't have a single complaint.

    Nervous as hell, though, naturally.

Knowing our luck, we'll make Alexander-Aronold look like Cafu. Of course it is his PL debut

Time to introduce Alexander-Arnold to Martial.
AA is a fine young player. Very inexperienced of course but he's fast (as an ex-winger) and has a better cross on him than Clyne. Maybe not as strong defensively but he's a good passer too. I doubt he'll let us down.

I like what I've seen of Trent Alexander-Arnold. He's not going to get done today.

He does have a surname for a first name and two first names for a surname though, the weirdo.

Alexander Arnold's uncle is Manutd club secretary's John Alexander.
Apparently he is a top top talent and is destined for the top according to Owen and Gerrard.

Martial will give him a tough test that's for sure.

Thank feck we didn't start Rooney.

Origi starting over Coutinho isn't terrible. He's a very strong lad, technically excellent and the fastest player we have bar Mane so if we are under the cosh without Mane, Coutinho and Matip then he's a good outlet for fast breaks. Still, I'd much prefer if those three were back and starting !

Martial will destroy him hopefully. A young kid, up against Martial. Also he is at the back with Lovren and Klavan who aren't exactly role model defenders  Plus the hostility of Old Trafford in such a game could destroy him. Here's hoping. Red Card please.

    Probably their strongest defender.

Ah shit, just seen team news. Matip and Coutinho out didn't bother me as much. But Clyne out today of all days? Ibrahimovic jumping at the far post will be a formality and not too mention Martial. :(

Oh well, need to win our home games.
