Mainoo might be a dud. I’m not sure what he does well apart from tight space dribbling. He’s a human backboard as a passer and is generally slow and un athletic as well
Amad and Dorgu are the only players who've played with intent thus farThe thing we have lacked so far this game is Martinez with his ability to get the ball forward from deep, Maguire is okay at spreading play wide but cant do the 30 yard pass that gets us up the pitch. Dalot is either to deep or to far forward and is offering nothing in either attack or defense. Mainoo may as well be sat on the bench, this game was perfect for Garnacho and his pace. I hope in the future as the manager gets the players he wants we start pushing our defensive line higher, we cant play like this at home next season.
The crowd are as well, hopefully keep on the players backs until they take the hint!The smallest things can throw a team off. We cannot progress the ball through midfield at all. The inverted wingbacks is a mistake, Dalot particularly is like a weighted anchor at LWB. Always cuts inside and goes back, every single time. We barely get the ball into our 10s, which means zero threat. We just need to be so much bolder in our selections.
If we insist on the 3-4-3, personally I put Dorgu on the left and Bruno on the right. Ugarte and Mainoo in the middle. Amad and Garnacho behind Hojlund.
