    Leicester City Football Club (nicknamed The Foxes, The Blues, City, and Blue Army), are a professional football club based in Leicester. The club was founded in 1884 by a group of old boys of Wyggeston School as Leicester Fosse because it played on a field by the Fosse Road. The club joined The Football Association (FA) in 1890. The club also joined the Midland League in 1891, and were elected to Division Two of the Football League in 1894 after finishing second. Leicester's first ever Football League game was a 4–3 defeat at Grimsby Town, with a first League win the following week, against Rotherham United at Filbert Street. The same season also saw the club's largest win to date, a 13–0 victory over Notts Olympic in an FA Cup qualifying game. In 1907–08 the club finished as Second Division runners-up, gaining promotion to the First Division, the highest level of English football.

    In 1919, when League football resumed after World War I, Leicester Fosse ceased trading due to financial difficulties of which little is known. The club was reformed as Leicester City Football Club, particularly appropriate as the borough of Leicester had recently been given city status. Following the name change, the club enjoyed moderate success in the 1920s. Leicester reached the FA Cup final for the first time in their history in 1949, losing 3–1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers. Under the management of Matt Gillies, Leicester reached the FA Cup final on another two occasions, but lost in both 1961 and 1963. As they lost to double winners Tottenham Hotspur in 1961, they were England's representatives in the 1961–62 European Cup Winners' Cup. In the 1962–63 season, the club led the First Division during the winter, thanks to a sensational run of form on icy and frozen pitches the club became nicknamed the "Ice Kings" eventually placed fourth, the club's best post-war finish. Gillies guided Leicester to their first piece of silverware in 1964, when Leicester beat Stoke City 4–3 on aggregate to win the League Cup for the first time.

    Leicester appointed former Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri as their new manager for the new 2015–16 Premier League season. Despite an initially skeptical reaction to Ranieri's appointment, the club made an exceptional start to the season. A 2–0 victory at Sunderland on 10 April, coupled with Tottenham Hotspur's 3–0 win over Manchester United, ensured Leicester's qualification for the UEFA Champions League for the first time in their history. Leicester won the Premier League on 2 May 2016 after Tottenham lost a 2–0 lead against Chelsea, drawing 2–2 at the "Battle of Stamford Bridge". This completed the fastest seven-year rise to the title except for Ipswich Town in 1962. Leicester City's most prominent rivals are Nottingham Forest, Coventry City and Derby County, and they have been playing their home games at The King Power Stadium (originally named Filbert Way) since 2002.

    If the players bring the same attitude and lack of creativity i can see Leic running out easy winners.

    The lack of any attacking patterns is staggeringly glaring, it's like the players haven't had a day of coaching! I'm afraid the whole forward line, bar Garnacho and half the midfield needs replacing.. again!
     
    Ruud set a bad precedent when we got 5 the first time around, so now I expect at least 6 in this one

    Agree with this. At least his work rate won't be a huge issue if he's up top, and not like Rashford or Zirkzee are offering any threat up top
     
    I'd go with Diallo and Rashford on the wings, give Garnacho a break.

    Honestly this is probably worth trying at this point. Rashford has at least shown signs of taking his chances this season.
     
    Anyone think we should start all 3 of Nacho, Rashy and Amad? Instead of Hojlund or Zirkzee?

    I think he has the attributes. Can play with back to goal, takes up good positions in the box, presses well, has a burst of pace and dribbles past players. Links up well, holds the ball well and has an eye for goal.

    Zirkzee just isn't up to the pace and Hojlund falls over a lot and isn't all that involved in my opinion.

    Not saying this is the long term answer, just that scoring is our main issue and feel Hojlund needs time and Zirkzee may not have a future. Wheatley lacks experience and Ruud has one last game so maybe worth a try/gamble?
     
    Hoping for a win. Leicester won’t be as bad as they were last time and will be playing their strongest lineup so it’ll be more difficult.
     
    I'm happy with that lineup above. I agree Rashers should start up top, even though he's done nothing in the last few games after his brief purple patch. Hopefully we'll be 2+ up after 60 mins and controlling possession in Leicester's half - in which case I'd bring on both Hojlund and ZZ to see if they can add something and build some confidence.

    Mind you, controlling possession in the oppo's half is not something we generally do, especially in the PL. So I'm not holding my breath.
     
    fairly confident about this one although I'm sure we'll make Vardy look like a mash-up of Kane and Mbappe...

    Been thinking the same mainly because I think Zirkzee will end up in the 10 position rather than backup striker. Rashford will probably have to play up front under Amorim so may as well give him a run out.
     
    Not that we should need it this weekend, but tet the new manager bounce begin. I truly believe we'll win this one confortably.

    Be interesting to see how the LC performance translates given how strong our team was vs how weak their team was.

    Other than that this period under Ruud has felt like that wait for a funeral when someone dies. We’ve had our closure but we want to move on now.
     
    Must win. Last game before the break and we only won 1 PL game in 2 months and just 3 overall which is terrible record. Leicester will be much bigger challenge in league than they were in Carabao Cup so have to have good performance and get all three points.

    I agree with your lineup ?picks itself largerly) with the exception of Hojlund starts of the bench and Zirkzee does 1st half/60 minutes. Garnacho and Hojlund against tiring legs whilst game is still tight (or we are well ahead :)) would be a great weapon to have.

    Would prefer for Amad not to play up top to be honest as I think he is best when he has space in front to run at players a bit.

    Maybe Bruno as False 9 and Amad at 10 could be interesting. But honestly I don't think Ruud will experiment too much since this is his last game. I'd expect

    RW : Amad
    CAM : Bruno
    ST : Hojlund / Zirkzee
     
    Might as well go with Garnacho-Rashford- Amad as front 3.

    My biggest problem is Bruno in the 10, too many times he's looking to play the first time holly wood ball and not just waiting for a better opportunity. Amad says himself his best position is centrally in the 10 spot so if I had to pick a lineup here, I'd look to play our players who are playing well in their best positions which means Amad at 10

    Or, if they've had no coaching, maybe they could be coached instead of replacing them?

    I think this team picks itself apart from the CF spot. I've not much confidence in any of them right now. I think I'd probably go for Hojlund again but wouldn't be surprised or too disappointed with the above.

    Rashford as a striker gives me chills, and not in a good way. If anyone can beat Mbappe's offsides in the CL, it's Rashford.
     
    Hope for a win. We'll have to be careful because yesterday we were not good, we were slow and had a lot of wholes again, so it can be painful.

    Nevertheless, we have to win this game, in order to get Amorim ready with a win in the PL.

    We have Eriksen, Antony, Garnacho, Zirkzee and Mount to come off the bench, which is really positive and hopefully will impact the game.

    Any CF can be caught offside, particularly in a team which consistently delays passing the ball, but I’d much prefer a player who is caught offside 10 times and clean through on goal 3 others than one who is never aside or clean through.

    That said, I think I’d play Zirkzee upfront in this one. The best balance we look to have in our frontline is Rashford - Zirkzee - Amad and I think we’ve only seen that once this season. Given Garnacho and Hojlund had stinkers last night, it makes sense to me to rotate them both out.

    I don’t think I’d look to change this until Amorim is in place to get them training in this system.

    Once he does, I quite like the look of this team but I would play Maz/Dalot the other way around.

    It’ll be a lot more difficult. They’ll fancy being able to score against us so we will probably need to find two goals from somewhere. I still believe this team can go on a run but we look all over the shop in attack this season.

    I'd go a front three of Rashford, Garnacho and Amad. I'd have them all playing a fluid system interchanging positions.

    The two strikers we have are absolutely bobbins so you may as well try something a bit different. Or alternatively he could give Wheatley a crack at it for a match, Ruud really has nothing to lose does he.

    I would stick with Hoijlund for this game based on what we saw when he joined the club last year. He had a similar start where he began the season injured and then struggled for goals early on as he built up his fitness before getting on a pretty good run of form. I think he improves with a run of starts so I would leave him in there for now. Leicester also concede a lot so a great opportunity for him to gain some confidence, he was clearly upset with himself when he came off last night and benching him might cause his head to drop further.
