    Personally think it will be a hybrid of 4231 and 433. Depending on position on the pitch and if we have the ball.

    For us to play 433 we need a DM. We only have Matic who can’t play 2 games a week.

    Why did Ole even mention it then? I'm sure he didn't say we'll only change to 4-3-3 if we get a new DM. I'm sure the plans for the season were we'll use 4-3-3 regardless.

    Did he ever say it? I just saw reports. Could be bollocks.

    Shame Varane and probably Sancho aren’t available though it would make it all the more exciting.

    Varane won't be in the squad but I'm sure Sancho will make an appearance.
     
    I can see McSauce starting on the bench only due to lack of CB's at the moment. Have a feeling Ole might want him as insurance for Harry/Lindelof.

    Although Matic could be the backup there as well.
     
    Phil Hay is saying Diego Llorente will miss the game for Leeds, but 'he's the only injury concern.' Firpo and Shackleton both fit.
     
    In terms of preparation for our first game it's safe to says ours has not gone very well.

    Let's hope it doesn't repeat last seasons outcome for the first few games

    After Ole's comments I've changed my mind. I reckon Sancho is starting.

    Also, can you add Elanga to lineup prediction?

    Sancho to come on after about an hour for James when he's ineffective. Shame that the new signings and Cavani aren't gonna be available but hopefully we can start the season well this time.

    Sancho has to start with Rashford and Cavani out of contention. I can't think of a single reason why he wouldn't.

    Maybe because wasn't well after he returned from holiday and only starting training with the team on Tues/Weds
     
    If (probably when) Lindelof gets outmuscled on a set piece to give up the equalizer, the Varane thread will be quite the treat.
     
    I am surprised that we didn't delay Tuanzebe's loan move until we had at least one central defender to sit on the bench.
     
    I would prefer a 50% fit Sancho over a 100% fit James. Let's hope Sancho get the start but I fear that isn't what will happen. This is going to be a fast paced games, and I hope we are fit, b/c Bielsa is going to try to run us ragged. It is time for Martial to come out of his shell and kick some butt! Greenwood has to play good too.

    Genuinely thought Jones would be in the squad tomorrow with Bailly only just back from Olympics, Axel gone to Villa & Rafa still finalising move, failing that why didn't we call up one of the academy CB's as cover

    Maguire and Lindelof are pretty reliable both with respect to injuries and cards. I just hope we don't start Dan James.
     
    If Sancho is fit, hopefully he starts.

    I don't think James has done enough to warrant a start, but I think Ole may start him(he started both games vs Leeds last season).

    Not a fan of playing Pogba out wide vs Leeds either.

    What really the difference? I think 433 is more about the wings player further up the field than whether a second midfielder is dropping deeper. Wenger's teams were often shown as a 433 but with 2 holders.

    If Pogba is that 2nd midfielder either joining Bruno as a second AM or Fred as a second DM, I would think that's more to do with where the player they need to defend is sitting, and whether we want to play into his feet so he can turn or have him drop deeper to find space and play long balls. He's able to do both so maybe it's something of a hybrid.
     
    Nothing less than 10 nil mauling would please me :cool:
