Think we may see one key change. Carrick failed to get control against Hull away and that is not for the first time in 2017. As Fellaini played well against Wigan and came off quite early, I think Mourinho may well opt for him today:

    ---------- DDG ----------
    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Blind
    -- Fellaini - Herrera - Pogba --
    ----- Mkhi - Ibra - Martial -----

Bailly picked up a knock in the reserves so won't play. Guess Rojones CB pairing. Blind is due a game on the left. Midfield picks itself as does the front 3.

    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Mhki Ibra Martial
Bailly played for the reserve team? Why?

My suspicion, exactly. Not sure Martial will start ahead of Rashford, though. Also have doubts on Blind ahead of Darmian.

Mourinho in a bad mood again in the press conference.

Strange he insisted in the ‘I know what I want’ in the summer market, instead of ‘the club knows’. An hint of divergences with the directors?

Only Carrick questionable - will he be given a chance to see put things straight? Or maybe Fellaini was subbed early last game to keep him fresh for this.

Un-fecking believable. They are actually showing West Ham - Citeh instead of United - Hull on Norwegian TV tomorrow.

Like those two fecks have any fans around here.

News from the presser is Bailly is available, but I would be very surprised if he starts (or even if he makes the 18 to be honest). Valencia, Pogba, and Ibrahimovic are all confirmed to start barring a late injury blow. Young is also in the squad to face Hull, so have to assume that means in the actual 18 and not just one of the 'travelling 20-23 or so'. I'd also be surprised if Carrick, Herrera, and of course de Gea don't return to the starting line-up.

    de Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Blind
    Herrera Carrick Pogba
    Mkhitaryan Ibrahimovic Rashford
    ---
Romero; Smalling; Fellaini, Young, Mata; Rooney, Martial

It's getting difficult to decide who to leave out now. I always think that Jose will pick Rooney and Fellaini on the bench if available, and you're always likely to see one of Rashford/Martial there too, with Mata rarely missing a matchday squad. Young's looking like being selected, he's getting that place over Mata/Lingard/Shaw/Darmian, depending on where Jose wants to use him. I'm hopeful that it means the end of Darmian with Shaw fit as well now.

It's even more difficult leaving out players now, as I think most of the time Jose would like to choose just one defender if possible (for the bench) and right now the favourite for that is Smalling (or Jones/Rojo if Smalling starts). Fans will likely want to see Fosu-Mensah and Schweinsteiger get places on the bench more, but Fellaini seems like the choice most of the time.

Thought he was on good form.

Will he reward Martial with a start for his two assists against Wigan?

I kind of hope we start with a very attacking line up - like Herrera / Pogba with Mkhi behind Zlatan and Rashford/Martial out wide and just go to kill the game early. Last 2 games we've started at a very lethargic pace. Put them on the back foot from the start !

Was Martial ‘magnificent’? There's your answer. (He was pretty good in the second half, but Rashford was our man of the match against Hull, I suppose he also deserves to start.)

Gone for this in the predictions:

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Blind
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhitaryan Mata Rashford
    Ibrahimovic
    Really exciting team on paper.

Vi har flyttet! Besøk www.scandinavianhammers.com would beg to differ

You'll find a supporter group for every English team in Norway. Even clubs like Luton town and Scunthorpe have their own devout following.

I suspect this is done because you constantly have supporters of shyte like Citeh, Hammers, Everton, Spuds, Pool etc. writing in to the Norwegian broadcaster and claiming United bias in their coverage. The pool fans are especially vocal, the delusion knows no borders.

Just happened to be sat next to a Norwegian Hammers fan when your post came up … he didn't want to go through the new rigorous Newbies palaver so I offered to post on his behalf. He's a twat anyway, so I make you right ;)

Don't believe Bailly will make it, nor that we'll feature that midfield. Also, when Mata and Mkhitaryan play, the latter seems to move to the left or center.

Norwegian, a cnut, Hammers fan - he is from Oslo, isn't he?

In that case give him a good slap.

Darmian has been filling in at RB for Valencia when he has needed a rest. It wouldn't surprise me to see Valencia playing all 6 games, unless of the unlikely scenario we wrap up the St. Etienne tie in the 1st leg.
The last time that Darmian played right-back instead of Valencia, besides recent Hull away for defending a result, was Fenerbahce away November 3rd. During that time, Young played right-back against Swansea, Zorya and Reading. He didn't even made the squad in January, but that was solely to transfer speculation. I believe him to be the substitute for Valencia in most games, those we're attacking, that is.

Seeing as we are keeping Young I would like to see him get a chance at left back and I think this would be a relatively safe game to try him there. He has been decent every time he has played right back and was decent when he played as a wing back for Van Gaal. Certainly going forward young can whip some great crosses in cutting back on his right foot so that would be very useful. I also think he has the pace and intelligence to do the defensive job. He can't be much worse than our current left backs anyway who are all pretty poor or out of form.

To add to that, Mourinho plays a defensive fullback and an offensive fullback. For that reason, Darmian will never substitute directly for Valencia unless Shaw plays on the other wing and in that situation it's more a case of Shaw covering Valencia's role than Darmian even if it's on the opposite wing.

We must win tomorrow!! Teams above us dropping points again.!

Huge opportunity to make up ground.

To be honest, we really need to start clawing back some goal difference. We saw last year how important it can be. A 15 goal swing is just about doable if we can rack up some big scores against the fodder.

Come on Zlatan. Is it that much to ask for a double hattrick and an 8-0 win?
