Rooney and Rashford were great against Reading. Does Hull's manager like to play a high line, like Jaap did against us.

Hoping this is more of a 4-3-3 with Mata the most advanced of our midfielders, Rooney left, Mickey right and Rashford through the centre.

I really am confused by Mourinho's handling of Martial. Fair enough if he is being saved for Liverpool but literally every time he has had a good game this season he has been dropped from the next game. Not just benched but dropped from the squad. What does that do to a players confidence?
I figure its more likely Rashford will be played against Liverpool due to consistency of games. Especially if Rashford scores a goal or two tonight.

So many ways we can line up here, but I think it'll be the same as against Reading with Mkhitariyan on the left.

I like him more on the right as he's a little more direct on that side, but there should be a lot of interchanging anyway. Exciting line up.

Mourinho said something about Martial that made me think that they're ok now. He said he didn't used him against West Ham, after his performance with Middlesbrough, because he and the player both agreed his physical condition wasn't the best.

‘It's easy to know our team, it's Zlatan…’

Pretty happy with that team, bar Zlatan being ill but I'm sure he'll be back for Sunday. It's also fine that Martial is being rested as that means he'll definitely start against Liverpool.

He's just working him back into a ideal rhythm. He said this after the FA Cup game:

"[Anthony Martial] played very well against Middlesbrough but, because he was not playing for a long time, him and myself felt that 48 hours later against West Ham it was better not to start

Now that he played against Reading, it makes sense to rest him today for the game against Liverpool. I don't think Rooney, Mata or Rashford are going to start in the PL so they played both cup games.

I would like that too but I think Mata will be playing on the right with Rooney as No.10.

I actually think Rooney would start anyway, no matter Ibrahimović being available or not. Perfect game for the record.

It looks a poor side, it must be said. We should be looking to blow them away and put the tie beyond doubt tonight.

I'm fine with it. It's a two legged tie and we have Liverpool on Sunday. As long as we get a decent result then we can play the big guns in the second leg, but that team is good enough to get the job done tonight.

I think he's talking about Hull, no way our team tonight can be described as a "poor side".

Jones-Smalling at the back. How long since they played together? (Please don't say 'last week ya numpty' or something, I suspect it was quite a long time ago).

I meant Hull's side looks poor, even by their standards with only six subs. I'm happy with how we look and we should be doing the job no doubt.

Martial said himself that he has stamina problems. That is something they will need to work on.

Maybe nothing if Jose speaks to the player and discusses the situation with him which he said he has been doing.
