    How many times did we cross the ball already? It seems we have no other way of attacking besides crossing
     
    Old Trafford is dead. I know it’s a Thursday but Jesus.

    Not that the lads have given them anything to shout about, mind.
     
    I doubt we'd score if we played against 11 tree trunks.

    Any chance we'd create would be lashed straight towards the keeper trunk rooted in the middle of the goal.
     
    There's really no point whipping crosses in the air into the box. None of our forward players can head the ball.
     
    Gomes is class
    Greenwood needs to play through the middle
    Chong not good enough
    Fred doing alright
    Most senior players letting us down

    He's average at best.

    I don't like to give up on a young player too soon but he will end up at a club like villa or bournemouth
     
    Meh. Boring half. Still should have been leading if we had had a better striker up front.

    Dalot and Rojo are having a great game. Chong and Rashford are the worst.

    Gomes and Greewood are decent but honestly they can and should do more.
     
    We obviously have no idea how to break down a side that's going to park 11 defenders on the edge of the 18 yard box. Still, think we'll win this 3-0.
     
    Before all you cnuts meltdown, we should be 3 or 4 up. It's also a far better test of these young players to have to battle for the win, that to have a walkover. So I am not unhappy at this turn of events at all.

    Greenwood needs to be much more involved.
     
    We move the ball too slow vs a packed defense.

    Move it faster.

    And our players still don't move enough without the ball.

    Still if Rashford knew how to score, we'd be up 2-0.
     
    Wouldnt mind seeing Mata in the second half... take of Rashford or Chong for him.

    Or Jones... taking off Jones is always a good option.

    I did re-read and rethink on my comment and tbh I did think it comes across as a little pissy which wasn’t what I was thinking.

    We look comfortable and Astana look happy just to be here, I’d just like us to be a bit more adventurous. I think the younger lads, Gomes especially are playing within themselves a little.
     
    What does anyone see in Chong? He’s nowhere close to the quality we require. I can see it in Gomes but we’re just wasting minutes & time with this kid.
     
    Rashford needs to either swap with Greenwood or be taken out. Missed opportunities are clearly in his head and seems frustrated.
     
    Greenwood should play through the middle for a bit. Let him get some of the chances Rashford has wasted so far.

    Is it chong on the right, greenwood striker and rashford left? Because that would make more sense than the lineup my app is showing

    Because the only way we will be able to score on them is to press them into losing the ball close to their own goal? Given that we have no plan/ability/system in how to play football if we are not counter attacking.
     
    Matic is very bad, Chong is also not ready for first team action.
    Rashford was a bit wasteful with his chances. Greenwood also could shoot with more accuracy, although his shots were from longer range.
     
    We really should be creating more against this lot. We aren't moving it fast enough.
     
    Rochdale will be better than this mob. These are the type of games we need to be scoring goals in and gaining confidence and momentum. The funny thing is I doubt we would be winning if we played the team that started v Leicester.

    Just praying Gomes or Greenwood do something second half to make it worthwhile.
     
    It’s been all been a bit meh. Jones and Chong have been poor. Rest have been ok but nothing special

    In fairness it’s hard to play against a team who put 11 behind the ball but that being said if they had been more composed they could have scored a few on the counter.

    I’m sure we’ll score in the second half though.
