Young and Lindegard on the right flank? Weird team sheet...
Why isn't Rooney on the side really?

It looks like Herrera is paying the fact that he forgot to control lol. Hopefully he can get in the game in the 2nd half.

Oh shut up Owen, Rooney is not just getting stick for not scoring goals, he is playing crap on all fronts. end off!

That seems like an oddly snarky response to a completely innocent point but hey-ho, that's matchday threads for ya.
No snarky at all mate. ;)

Sorry if it came across that way. Was probably just unknowingly venting my anger at Rooney starting yet again.

It's interesting that LVG hasn't lost the dressing room yet because if you were one of Herrera, Mata, or any number of players that gets dropped and shifted around to accommodate our slow, lumbering oaf of a captain, you'd probably start a coalition to get the manager out.
Those players are too nice to do that and Rooney is far to influential. Don't know who'd start the revolution. Bastian is new and prob gets on with LvG. We don't have any influential bastards a la Terry in the team. Kinda wish we did.

I do see what you're saying. But at the same time, I find it hard that anybody who's actually watched any football the last 12 months would find it controversial or shocking.

Yeah that's the logical way of seeing things, then again Welbeck wasn't up to much, and we lost our identity when we sold him, there would be a massive backlash from the media if we sold the darling of English football, now more than ever considering he is the England captain now too.

They are now saying that Rooney is our most "intelligent" player. Comical!

Funny how Darmian and Herrera have a couple of below par games and they are dropped immediately yet The Captain has a terrible season and he's still going strong in the line up.

People always want to complain.I would say that considering Valencia was out Young and Lingard is our most our dangerous combination right now if we want to get something from the right side (Mata might be a better player but his "dangerous zone" is in the middle).

If you hadn't watched us play this season and only went on Owen and Scholes' opinions you'd think the rest of the side were letting Rooney down.

It's quite outstanding actually. I give them credit for persistence.

Carrick and Schweinsteiger in the middle...good thing CSKA don't have much pace on the counter.

He should be starting ahead of Rooney, but my god Ander Herrera gets overrated on here. Either that or a number of his family members are signed up to the caf. A very average player in my opinion who will never even be considered for his national team.

It's pathetic listening to Rio, Scholes and Hargreaves defend their pal 'wazza'. Every excuse they can muster, it's every other players fault. Our most technical player according to Hargreaves, what's the point in them being pundits?

I'm glad Rooney is starting. I want Rooney to start every game, so his supporters haven't got a leg to stand on come summer.

Why. You can see the media stance. If he's not scoring it not because the stats show he loses the ball consistently, it's because the ball is not been put on a plate for him. That would mean 6-8 yards out with no one to beat. All evidence shows the players that shine in this system create for themselves....

    1. Is he?

    2. feck your standards must be low. Lingard has been below average, certainly hasn't set the world alight. We haven't scored since he has been starting. This is exactly the sort of game to get Memphis his confidence back as well.

What is wrong in the post?

    didn't know that.

No dude, he's been pretty average. He's not United first team quality, never has been - never will be. Shame we loaned out Adnan to BVB's bench, cos he could have been getting some minutes here. Depay has been pretty good in CL, and as i said above this is the perfect game for him to start getting his confidence back.

Same with Young over Darmian. It's got long term potential, and Young has been below par this season as well.

Yep. Still don't understand that decision above all in a sea of baffling decisions.

Well maybe not a sea but certainly a big Lake. Or a Loch. Is that Scottish for big Lake?

 LvG is on drugs. Might be feeling some pressure, at least he's entertaining.

They are now saying that Rooney is our most "intelligent" player. Comical!

As Owen ended his speech about Rooney's intelligence, Paul had to wipe Owen's saliva dripping on his pants leaving a disturbing stain on his crotch and while doing that, Paul accidentally pooped his pants.

Are they just going to keep repeating themselves? This is so frustrating to watch. Love Scholes and Rio but they've been showing themselves up as pundits. Hargreaves is a massive prick.

Seems like every time we play on BT it's defend Wayne Rooney time and bash van Gaal about how he's not playing the same type of football Fergie played.

Just logged on to BT Sport and the first thing I hear is Scholes talking about Rooney scoring 25-30 goals.

Owen is just a cock , but shocked at Scholes.

You're really shocked at Scholes having a negative opinion about our current set up? In saying that with the Euros coming up no English man will dare criticise Rooney publicly, United are an easy target.

Seriously, how is it so hard for pundits to see that Rooney is shit?

They are now saying that Rooney is our most "intelligent" player. Comical!
It's not comical at all. He's been at the top of the game for 12 years and been amongst the best players in the world for much of that time. His ability to find space and playmake in that time is what made him so great.
