So is Ole going to do a Mourinho and play McTominay on the right wing just to prove a point?

    Nobody knows.

Covid-19 can affect lung capacity even after it's gone. For the average guy in the street, operating at 90% efficiency won't make any difference to the way they live their lives. But for a top athlete, it's could be equivalent to temporarily ageing by 5 or 6 years.

Or not. Again, we have no idea how well Pogba is doing beyond the fact he's recovered.

I know a relatively healthy twenty-something girl who recovered weeks ago but still gets out of breath walking up a flight of stairs. No idea if she can play in a midfield two.

He recovered over a week ago, almost in time for the Villa game. Chances are he'll make the starting eleven tonight.

I just hope we never see B-Williams play LBack ever again!
Bit harsh. He's done very well there last season. The kid is young so give him some slack. He's answered every question and was in great form early in the season when Shaw clearly was not. In fact, if you go back through his performance thread, you'll find a large majority asking for him to start over Shaw every week.

We are at home vs Crystal, let's attack

    De Gea
    AWB Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    VDB Pogba
    Bruno
    Greenwood Martial Rashford

Team news. Phil Jones is injured. Seriously, wtf.
No way? Last week he was back in training. Seriously, he cost club millions every year. Guy should just be a man and retire. Like some players did when they saw that they can't play football on high level

It looks like your brain can't process information properly thus when an poster says "hope BW doesnt play LB for us again" for you it means that poster meant "he cant play RB" either....well that is not what that poster 'said'. Read it again. That poster only talked about LEFTBACK. Get him a left foot then. Cheers mate!
Do you always speak about yourself in the 3rd person?

You'll function well in the match day thread...I'll look out for your posts, it's going to be fun.

    Hopefully.

But Ole said, “I’m not gonna tell you who it is tomorrow but Luke [Shaw] and Paul are available for selection for how long we need them.”

That, to me, suggests that neither is 100%. And with a respiratory illness like Covid-19, recovery isn't going to be either linear or predictable. You could have the lung capacity to play at your top level for 20 minutes, but then suddenly feel knackered out of nowhere.

As I say, we'll have to see.

It may still be (one of) Matic or Fred instead of Pogba or VDB. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lingard instead of James on the bench

I think this is the first time in all my years as a united fan where I truly feel apathetic towards a match because its becoming so clear we are looking stuck for a long time with owners who have no ambition to see the club to become the best in a footballing sense and is content with scrapping for a champions league spot every year to keep sponsors happy and pick up champions league money and a majority of fans ain't bothered about it aside from some moaning on twitter.

As a 42 year old, I've seen the lot from United. Every single year I look forward to the first game of the season with renewed optimism. For the first time ever, not this year. I genuinely feel that Ole has been stitched up by the board/owners lack of any ambition. We over achieved last year; and with our rivals spending, (and our lack of), we're going to be in for a terrible year imo. We were already on our arse towards the end of last season. Added with the fact that this season is a compressed one, AND, with us competing in the Champions league, we just won't have the legs - as our squad players are clearly pretty fecking awful and cannot be relied upon as proven many times.

Regardless of whether we add Sancho, or whoever else, it's just too late. They should've been here already to bed in with the team instead of waiting to the last minute. That is **IF** we even buy anyone, which I am quite pessimistic if I am being honest.

Feels a bit disconnected- Ole got third, got stitched up just like previous managers. All the bullshit briefings - really taking the piss with support base. No plans for stadium. No DOF. Still Woody. Good luck to them today.

He loves a generic statement does our Ole.

Doesn't have much choice. He can't exactly say that the board has fecked him over by not adding barely anyone to the team, (when it was clearly needed), and as such, we're going to struggle.

Can’t wait for real football to replace fantasy football. Hate all the transfer muppets turning football into a soap.

This caption ( not the statement by Ole) tells me the board is very aware of the atmosphere around the club. And that is encouraging, because it would imply they would at least try to make the necessary signing(s).

I know, but I’m talking about the summer of 2006. Nobody expected us to be as good as we were that season. I remember the pre season previews predicting it may be the season United dropped to 4th (which was unthinkable under Fergie)

“Carrick isn’t good enough” “they’ve not replaced Van Nistelrooy” “Rooney & Ronaldo hate each other” “has Fergie lost his touch”

All of the above was a taking point going into 06-07. Nobody expected us to win or even challenge for the league.

Guardian actually tipped us for 6th with the headline "where will all the goals going to come from?"

I wasn't referring to lack of incoming transfers up to this point, rather the way he conducts his press conferences in general.

If Woody makes no further signings this summer, then I hope Ole speaks out publically against it, or at least drops a hint or two without being too direct.
